@@lucynatas8458 the point is trying to get the vehicle then selling it for as much as you can rinse and repeat it's not an honest matter yes it's not meant to be good for the economy it's to get a quick buck lmfao that's why you try to buy cheaper than sell for more it's legitimately trying to rip people off id never sell a car I just bought thats why you do inspection and cleaning and repairing then sell it for way more because it has value added to it not taken from it even 1468 bucks profit is still 2468 bucks stupid you use that to buy the next and continue it till you have to get the license to sell more than 4 to 10 cars a year then start buying expensive equipment or gear write it off as a business expense to get lower taxes and repeat it's about building up and using what you have

This is emphasized with his comment, “20k in a month.” Nah brodie thats not gonna happen if you’re starting with $1k. It takes a month to flip a car lmao, and no one is going to agree to a 50%+ reduction in price off rip, especially if the car is in the top most quickly selling cars, unless its an absolute piece of shit, which means you gotta fix it, which means your margins are hella low. Depending on the state, but most states allow you to sell 3-4 cars a year for profit without needing a dealer license. And if you're not a business and you don't tell the Government, there's no reason to pay them taxes because nothing is reported.

I grew up raised by an under an immigrant that made his money off fixing and selling cars here in South Texas, he would go to the junkyard or pick and pull auto junkyards and get parts for cheap using his own labor, and fix small defects or problems in any specific car he was buying to flip, he made a lot of money doing this stuff, so it’s not off the table as some illogical or impossible way of starting a stable cash flow.

It's sounds great in theory, but in Canada, there is a law called curbing. You need a dealers license to sell unlimited cars per year. You can only sell a limit. I believe it's only 3-5 cars per year

The thing is, even if this would work, you can't spend that money. If you turn $1000 into $3000. You still need that full amount to keep going. You can't say, let me use $2000 to pay for food and rent. Because it will put you back on square one.

The era your grandfather lived and the one you live are totally different. Ask your grandfather if a 9 to 5 job can make 1 to 3k per day, he wouldn't probably believe. There are a lot of labour hire jobs in IT that pays that much. Business is like crossing the ocean on a raft. Its difficult but the fruits are sweeter

Make sure and check your states regulations on buying and selling vehicles. For instance, in Washington state you have to be licensed after selling more than 5 cars a year. Now your into auto dealers license, tax number and all the business bs.

When my 2006 duramax blew up, I sold it in 5 hours with a broken crank. Just recently flipped a 2008 Impala with 89k miles. Sold it the day after it was posted. The 2016 Silverado LTZ Z71 I’m currently selling tho has sat a month now lol

I love how he tells you the best possible scenario (also illegal in 95% of North America without a license lol..they will let you do it 3-4 times max) of flipping cars but not the countless things that typically go wrong or the amount of time it actually takes to find a serious buyer that doesn’t waste your whole day. It’s a great thing ti do if you have a physical business location but I’ve done this several times and it’s not all that it’s cracked up to be. Made 7k on one vehicle I fixed up last year but even then I still don’t talk glowingly about it because I know the actually bs that’s involved with the whole process.

@@mikeyoung5329 town and country, they’re great for flipping if you have some connections with public auctions or local used car dealerships and connections with mechanics that will fix things for cheaper (get the parts yourself and stuff like that too)

This is actually a lot of work though. You have to pick the car up, find a place to store it, change the registration of the vehicle, clean up the car so it sells better, sell it (not easy) and a hundred other potential steps in between. You manage to do this you just worked your ass off and deserve the 20k. This isn't easy money by any stretch.

Exactly what I was thinking! I wonder though when you get the logbook (what we call it here) the seller usually signs it and the new owner sends it off. If you just didn't sign it and let the guy you sell it to do it. Obviously he probably wouldn't trust you but if you showed him proof of identity and your address with a utility bill. Probably get caught eventually for a big tax bill. What else am I forgetting?

correct. to legally re sell the car he would have to pay the taxes to get the title in his name. Not only that, most states will only let you do this so many times without an actual dealer license

Where I live, after 3 cars you're required to get a dealer license. It's actually not difficult.. but $270 on the first year. Don't make an ignorant mistake and get fined

@kevintemido You need one to sell any car whilst at a dealership and legally require one after 3 private sales where I'm from. Check where you live, it's likely not the same. Or else your local motor association will slap you a nice thicc fine. Edit: I see some states are 4-6 but Indiana is apparently 12.

Not true, I have done this but with laptops. Smaller investment and I'm able to fix ones that do need repairs. Granted you could do better as a mechanic being able to do your own repairs and determine beforehand what stuff could cost if needed.

He's smart. He reached out to enough people to where he met someone that couldnt sell the car for its original price, was desperate (which you would find normally after messaging quite a few people), and eventually, he/she would sell the car to him. If you repeat the process, you will eventually meet someone ELSE who is just as desperate as the last one because they think its better than nothing after efforts of not selling the car that they're selling...Then you repeat the process. Not everyone is the same when it comes to how much YOU would go for selling a car. Youll eventually meet that person that is desperate enough to compromise for a price that is still big to them regardless of how much the car ACTUALLY costed. They just wanted to get rid of it already after so many attempts to sell the car they have. Iits similar to real estate, after a while, the house will be listed and if no one buys it, they sell it for lower and lower because its better to be close to the original sale you offered, than it not being sold at all.

@@silentwalker-ns9cycommon sense, no one would take a deal for 1/3 of its asking price. Unless it is a stolen car, or heavily damaged, you could get in trouble holding a stolen car. Also there is no way someone buy for 3.5k when there are other people selling for 3k.

Some individuals are financially comfortable and don't necessarily need the money, yet they might be willing to sell at a lower price to free up space on their driveways. Ultimately, it's a numbers game; the more offers you make, the higher the chances of finding someone who will agree. I'm not suggesting that it will be as straightforward as he portrays it, but the fundamental idea he presents would likely be effective as long as you remain consistent.
