Famous playwrite on his younger self "I was SO longing for criticism, that's why I mostly stayed in theatre and not television." Also him "The first time someone I thought much of tried to give me feedback I called him every name I could think of, tore the play out of his hand and bolted." I love this. It reminds me of his play "Leaving Home" itself. People feel trapped and the stakes are so high that even people who love each other practically destroy one another in their quest to self-actualize. This play is by this man, clearly.
