One thing to note about the Garibaldi snare, there's actually two versions. The original version has a seamless, spun shell. At some point, maybe when Yamaha parted ways with Sakai, Yamaha switched to a rolled shell with a welded seam, which I believe is what you have. You can easily tell the difference by looking at the badges - the older version has a simple square badge. The ride looks like a slight improvement on his Jam Master ride, by being more extensively hammered.

Another great video, Herb! You are so right about the stick choice. I use a VF Peter Erskine ride stick for jazz and VF Buddy Rich sticks for rock. I do have different rides for different gigs , as well. Hope you're doing well!

Thank you, Jeff. I just laid my hands on a second of the total 250!of these rides. Today, I tried two different pair: 1) My “go to” 5A Carbon Fiber sticks 2) Vic Firth David Garibaldi sticks Once again, like two different rides. If you use Sabian and can pick up one of these on the heavier side, you’ll have a gem that will last for a long time to come. Also, GREAT punchy bells on both. Stay safe and have a great weekend.
