I have listened to Schubert's Serenade innumerable times over my life, and never was it so wonderfully performed as David Garrett does it. His pitch is perfect, and I think only Schubert would be able to play it with such sensibility.

I had the chance to see David in concert in Ft. Lauderdale last week...he was utterly fantastic...so talented and seems to be such a nice person. The emotion on his face when he plays is spellbinding...he brought the house down and is adored by young and old alike! (Too bad I'm so old...because he's simply gorgeous too!)

@kingofcobwebs, I know you posted that comment a year ago, but he nearly broke his neck when he dripped downstairs with that violin. After he realised that the instrument was practically ruined, he was more devastated, because he had broken a historical piece. He said that if it hadn't been possible to repair it, he wouldn't have known how he could ever live or even play on knowing that. He cared more for the instrument's state than his own. Does that sound like indifference? And he did make a longer break because all the fuss about him went to his head. Everyone likes success, but he's not an attention whore. He simply loves to play and understood that people like listening to it.
