Takes me right back to a kid hearing mom, dad and siblings singing and humming this song. Dude I'm a white man and have loved Bread since I first heard them in q972. My Wife is a black woman and she's learned of the Fantastic music through me. We both love this as much as the beautiful soul music that came from the same time. We sure wish there was music like this nowadays. We're just sitting here digging this groove !

Love is timeless, God is love. I prayed and asked Jesus Christ to save me from all my sins in 1973 on the island of Catalina. Back then the good Lord provided for me then just as he continues to do for me today. The soundtrack of my life is still these Bread hit songs.

Hello 😢 I love bread music it reminds me of my brother Steve so I subscribed to you because he no longer has his mental capacity anymore and in a fire in his apartment the fireman tossed them over the third floor and I went through the burned items and collected his vinyl record collection and saved them. These songs remind me of him and in my uncontrollable crying listen to every single song. Love you Steve hope to see you soon. 😢

I have tears in my eyes listening to these songs. It brings me back in my memories of a time I was in love with a wonderful person. I can still feel it In my heart. I’m 78 now but in listening to this I’m 34. Cherish your time as a young person because people won’t understand how a person who is old can think and feel love once left behind.

I hope you're doing well. You are about 12 years younger than my mother would have been if she were still alive. She used to love this band, and this song in particular. I have foggy memories of me as a child, listening to this music along with her. She had a really hard life and it is with time that I've come to understand. I too have tears in my eyes as I listen. In times like these, I hope and pray heaven or some version of it is real, so that may be I can see her again.

David Gates was happily married with children when he wrote most to all of his beautiful love songs (currently married over 60 years). It's one thing to understand love but another on how to write a love song -David not only wrote beautiful music (mostly just with his voice and guitar) but his lyrics contain words of someone who understands love from it's most powerful place of being unconditional to the deep heartbreak of 'wanting' of taking someone for granted. His music truly is healing and heart breaking - there is a reality to it a purity and innocence not found in todays music. Because of his genius -his heart/love those of us who appreciate his music will never be the same. Thank you David! Thank you Bread!

I was born in 63 so I grew up hearing Bread on the radio all the time. The world was such a better place back then and the music from then reflected that. Bread is a prime example of just how much better song writing was back then.

I agree with your whole post. This world has gone to hell,period. Especially the so called melting pot, the once great United States that has turned into a liberal s hole for Islamics and other foreigners that live off the freedom that my fathers fought for. My dad loved “Bread”. He would always play it in the house, the car, at parties, everywhere. These songs have a special place in my heart. I wish I was old enough to understand the lyrics when I was younger when my dad was still alive. Every time I listen to “Bread”, I can’t help, but cry.

No one who didn’t grow up in the 70’s will never experience the kind of love we possess. Because of the music, the 70’s were special thanks to bands like Bread. When you are happy, the music touches the soul, but when you are sad the words are understood a lot better. Thank you God, for putting me on this Earth when you did. I am a 63 year old Grandmother and still listen to the music of the 70’s. My children and grandchildren love it too and that makes my heart happy. Merry Christmas everyone and have a wonderful Christmas season!!! Happy New Year too!! Hope next year is your best yet!! God Bless us all!!

We were blessed. I am 71 years and stil listen to these songs. A bit concerned for the generations comming up as I don, t think todays music will stand the test of time. Kids now have no idea what real music is or even was.

So sweet to relax, tilt my head back, close my eyes, and let my mind drift back to the time when these tunes played often on the airwaves. On a hot summer night, everyone's window open without fear, everyone playing their radios, nobody was mad, didn't worry about drive-by's. You just relaxed and enjoyed the music playing. This is the music that soothes the savage beast. Today's kids could use a heavy dosage of this medicine.

I was born in '72, but I remember riding in the car with my mom and her singing along to Bread. One of the first groups I love to this day... The songs remind me of being a kid in the 70s and they remind me of sunset hazes and summer nights, and the windows open with the warm breeze blowing in from Lake Michigan...a simpler time.

@@joypipes6022 Im so thankful to my grandmother who has given me the opportunity to enjoy the talents of yesterday she certainly has amazing taste in what actual talent was and has inspired as well as Introduced, myself and siblings, to so many great series and music, that our generation should be ashamed to call talent it's in my opinion garbage an certainly doesn't stack up to greatness it's my opinion that they had class and took pride in their work. You just don't have that today, with all the technology out there basically anyone can be famous it's sad except for its the truth. God bless America 🇺🇸 🙏 ❤
