Grazie Cris. La Black Strat è un mio assemblaggio: body Relic 56 Fender Custom Shop, manico reissue 57 del 1983, ponte reissue 57 del 1983, pickup repro 66 fatti dalla vecchina della Fender, Abigail Ybarra. Ho fatto un bel po' di prove (con una 20ina di stratocaster diverse) ma la chitarra ora mi dà grandi soddisfazioni.

Ciao, gli amplificatori utilizzati sono Masotti M1 e Masotti x100M, ovviamente in stereo. Tutto su casse 4x12. :)

Interesting. The impression that I got was that the quality difference came not from the transition from Sound City to Hiwatt, but when the company started having harry Joyce Electronics wire the amps in 1970. With that said, Gilmour was using them in '69 when they were still being totally built in Dave Reve's garage.;-) We know that circuit desing is critical to the sound of an amp, but as we have seen with products like the Trainwreck amps, parts quality and workmanship are important too.

Just so you know, Sound City and Hiwatt were made by the same amp/company, Hylight. The company built the amps for the Sound City music store for the first few years and once the contract ended, sold them as Hiwatts.

Ciao Andrea, rispondo direttamente io. La Masotti M1 ha un clean più adatto questo tipo di suono e risulta molto versatile, soprattutto con i pedali. Un mix tra Fender e Hiwatt, tra preamp e finale. La X100M ha la stessa sezione finale, ma grosse differenze di preamp. Nel video ne viene usata solo la sezione finale come lato Right. Mentre la sezione preamp e la sezione finale Left è la M1. I believe it's really an evolutionary progression. David Reeves, the brain behind the Sound City amps, left Sound City and set up his own firm he chose to call Hiwatt. There are pics online of very late Sound City amps rebadged as Hiwatts, so these were indeed identical.

Ciao Andrea, le esecuzioni con la black strat, mentre parlo, sono tutte riprese dal microfono della telecamera. Il solo di Shine che senti alla fine è stato ripreso con 2 SM57, davanti alle due casse 4x12. Senza ulteriori mix, solo il left e il right del gruppo. Due sole piste per tutto il gruppo insomma.

Ciao Grande Pier! Cosa ne pensi dei nuovi big muff rispetto ai ram's head? la differenza è molto grande? e cosa ne pensi del distorsore della boss sd1? non mi piace molto ma molti mi dicono che sia uno dei più diffusi... ciao! sei un grande!

Hi Pierangelo. Greetings from Canada. I've been checking out your other videos (accordotv) where you show the setup for the CS-2. You write: "Level ore 14.30, attack ore 11, sustain ore 11.30". I don't speak Italian (I do speak Spanish though) but as far as I know "ore" means "hour", right. I'm trying to use your settings on my pedals but I'm confused by the way your are showing each value. The knobs are set in a circular pattern, so I can understand 12 or 3 or 9 o clock. But 14.30? Thanks.

Come mai la scelta di queste 2 testate insieme?Non hanno lo stesso clean?Tra le 2 quale è piu adatta?Cosa hanno in comune tra loro e poi cosa hanno in comune con un Hiwatt?

Curiosità! Il suono iniziale e finale del solo di Shine l'ho fatto con la Red Strat, quindi EMG SA, attivi. Tanta roba! Per essere un Left e Right (niente tracce separate) senza ritocchi preso dal banco mixer mi sembra un ottimo risultato.... :-)

To my ears, all one needs is a Strat w/ single coils and the Butler Drive. Anytime I hear the Butler with a Strat, regardless of amp used, I hear Gilmour. Even EJ has that Gilmour tone when he has the Butler on his lead Marshall.

Yes, but are not the same amps, I can assure you. More than once I've done the test with owners of sound city amps and my Hiwatt 1974, alway they run to sell the first and buy the second. Sound city are good amp and they can get a good sound, but sound and quality standards required in Hiwatt were one evolutionary step forward. (Sal, MusicOff Co-Admin)

@GiovyLedZep Io lo tollero... prendere o lasciare. Il Big Muff è molto più rumoroso. Con l'altro rack, se proprio debbo arrivare nel silenzio della notte... risolvo la cosa utilizzando un ISP Decimator nel loop della testata, prima degli effetti di ambiente... ;-)

Sorry, but you are not correct on some points, with the most notable being the Alembic. From the '70s to the early '80s the Alembic was used as the main preamp for the rotary speakers. It then disappeared, and made a debut again in Gilmour's 1988-1990 and 1994 rigs.

You need to better investigate your sources, you do not have to settle with the first (famous) site on the net. Do you know who is Phil Taylor? Search for him. These are his words: "As I mentioned, he likes his initial signal to be very clean. To achieve this he uses a mid-Seventies Alembic F2-B bass preamp and the power stage of six 100-watt Hiwatt heads." But this is only one of the direct sources. ;-)
