I discovered David Gray after the lose of my beautiful young son almost 8 years ago. Someone sent me this song. I proceeded to purchase all of his CD's. He is truly a very gifted person. Thanks, David Gray for helping me thru such a horrible time in my life. Even though I listened to his music and cried my heart out, it surely purged some of my grief. No drug can compare to just letting the soul wrenching anguish loose from yourself. Believe me, I tried.

I’ve lost my brother and daughter. My brother was an army guy who died fighting for his country. My daughter a little soul fighting for her infant life - both died trying. Music like this makes me cry but it helps heal the pain.

Meet me on the other side Meet me on the other side I'll see you on the other side See you on the other side Honey now if I'm honest I still don't know what love is Another mirage folds into the haze of time recalled And now the floodgates cannot hold All my sorrow all my rage A tear drop falls on every page Meet me on the other side Meet me on the other side Maybe I oughta mention Was never my intention To harm you or your kin Are you so scared to look within The ghosts are crawling on our skin We may race and we may run We'll not undo what has been done Or change the moment when it's gone Meet me on the other side Meet me on the other side I'll see you on the other side I'll see you on the other side I know it would be outrageous To come on all courageous And offer you my hand To pull you up on to dry land When all I got is sinking sand The trick ain't worth the time it buys I'm sick of hearing my own lies And love's a raven when it flies Meet me on the other side Meet me on the other side I'll see you on the other side I'll see you on the other side 💙 I know it would be outrageous To come on all courageous And offer you my hand To pull you up on to dry land When all I got is sinking sand The trick ain't worth the time it buys I'm sick of hearing my own lies And love's a raven when it flies Meet me on the other side Meet me on the other side I'll see you on the other side I'll see you on the other side

Amazing lyrics.. "I know it would be outrageous To come on all courageous And offer you my hand To pull you up on to dry land When all I got is sinking sand The trick ain't worth the time it buys I'm sick of hearing my own lies And love's a raven when it flies."

So many people are gone and loss is one of the hardest things. I have spent decades grieving for people I love who are not here any longer and whether it is a death in the family or of a close friend or the loss of a partner I truly loved, it makes very little difference. This song brings me to tears and so does Shine and a few others of David's songs. I know he understands because I can feel it in his voice and read it in his lyrics. Some people never recover from this. I am still trying but it is so hard and these songs are like therapy. Loss is forever and that is why it is so hard sometimes especially when you truly love the person as much as your inner soul or being will allow. I will miss these people forever and it never goes away. So ya this beautiful song makes me cry because I know he knows...

If i die now it matters not. No manner of life's loss will fulfill the loss I feel now. Stricken by the abyss of which I find myself awaiting to fall into the emptiness of a future of nothingness. Miss you, see you , still miss you, never see you, again and again. Not far away but too far to feel you, to tasted the hint of your breath of which another one tastes, the gentle caress of your presence, your hair, your you.................YOU. Miss YOU.

Phoenix........Love will kill us all." He said sadly. "First it makes us lie furiously so we can be what me must in order to appear deserving. Then, it tears us apart with raw truth. Whether we are man, exile or angel - It doesn't matter. For us all, the nature of truth is unforgiving.” ― Jessica Shirvington, Emblaze
