The odd thing about nostalgia (at least for me) is that ‘the old days’ were actually rough as hell for me. My life is objectively in a much better place now. I’m happier overall, I love my life, my family, the friends I have… but damn do I still miss the ‘good’ old days

Liebe Kim, ich verbinde dieses wunderschöne Lied mit dem Tod meines Vaters. Leider überschnitt sich sich dessen Beerdigung mit dem Konzert in Berlin. With this track, I immediately feel catapulted between 1995 and 1997, a period that marked a transition from eurodance to dream and mediterranean progressive. I'm pretty sure this was based on the cover by Scooter released in 2002. Both kinda butcher the original song, but they do work on the dancefloor (and TikTok, which was probably what they had in mind while doing this version).

@@AlonsoMonteroNo, this is way better than Scooter's version. Scooter's version has nonsensical lyrics from what it looks like on Spotify. And the woman's voice sounds squeaky and overly high-pitched, even more than this one. Scooter's is my least favourite. I think I prefer this over the original because the pacing is better and this has a better ending. But I did like the bit in the original near the start about the world making him clinical, respectable, etc. It reminded me of The Little Prince, where the stars were taken out of the sky and turned into electricity, and someone's toy airplane was turned into paperclips.

It is not Eurodance. It is tecno, probably trance is the correct sub-genre. @BananaBeach519: EuroDance started around '91, Snap being a real break-through pioneer, DJ Bobo actually (Somebody dance with me, completely underrated and way aheaf of its time.) You have groups like Dune, 24-7, 2unlimited. Very simplistic base drums. By 94 you already have Marusha's 'Somewhere over the rainbow' and Scooter's 'Hyper Hyper' (also epic and not getting the credit it deserves.) and you start having happy rave and trance, which later progresss into trip hop (Faithless) and Jungle. Westbam, Dr. Motte, PaulvanDyk are some of the other big names that come to my mind from the greatest time of techno. The time you are refering to (2000-2010) happy rave, trance, all that was pretty much over in the mainstream and in clubs. There were some big beats pieces e.g. by chemical brothers and then it was full on back to house in the clubs. (Pretty much the same old ... they played in the 80's in England, mainly beats, not much else, idk who thought that that was a smart idea, certainly the clubs were becoming a lot emptier at that time.). Only in the Netherlands, I believe did techno keep its popularity and sometimes (Dj Tonka) a hit found its way to other parts of Europe.

Sccoter did not make this song, Scooter sampled Supertramps's The Logical Song, this song also improvises on the lyrics/melody based on Supertramps track, this has no connection to Scooter apart from using the same sample

I'm sitting here at my computer at 2 am unable to get sleep and found this video collab of you and Kim Petras(who I only discovered in 2023 from her Future Starts Now video) from there I went into Kim Petras rabbit hole, but I'm so glad that I did! I love this late 90's/early 00's Eurodance vibe from your music, and Kim voice sounds wonderful, and she looks incredible in each outfit! As a Gen Xer this take me back to that era of Eurodance songs that were released on compilation CD's. I used to buy them at a Virgin Megastore(which no longer exist sadly) that I frequented quite a bit when I was in my early 20's to mid 20's. Such an awesome song, and the shots of the young people hanging out wearing clothes of that era, I was thinking to my self:" Yes! that's how us Gen Xer's dressed back then! that's spot on!" I truly enjoy all Dance music, but Eurodance was just different. We had the Vega Boys, Alice Deejay, ATB(who's still around!) Paul Okenfold, Goldfrapp, I could go on and on, but I won't. Thank you David Guetta so much for making this song!

Kim will always be a trans woman. Also isn't just about the clothes, it's not something she can take off. if she were naked she would still have breasts etc. they're not even implants, so, it's not a costume, it's a medical condition.
