I adore this. I get the feeling that David is an artist that seemingly...there’s this urgent desire to convey what’s in his soul, through movement. So much passion within this individual, unlike others...different...it seems it would take a lifetime for him to communicate a fraction of all that resides within. This video shows as if he feels that hypothetical struggle within himself. I’m so grateful he is able to bless the stages around the world with his immeasurable talent and innate passion. He is truly unique in the best, yet most-impossible way to describe. I’m obviously similarly at war with myself trying to find words to honor such...magnitude.

So addictive. I watch this clip everyday now. The way he moves is with great sincerity and dedication... such purity is not to be found in every dancer, no matter how technical he/she gets. Principle dancer and he definitely should go further. Love from Hong Kong***

The dance of Narciss. Half-man, half-woman. Perfect on both sides. And equally imperfect. Loves only his reflection. But it does not love it back. Loneliness.

This was difficult to understand at first, but eventually seemed like a very good portrayal of a dancer or artist's life. Well done those involved, well done indeed. And thank you for sharing!

He only looks so incredibly lean because he is really tall. Look up some of his partnering pieces and you will see that it does not mean he is weak. His short torso and long legs are the ideal physique for dancers. He is incredible!

David has such an amazing and unique physicality for a male dancer! I love him in the modern ballet stuff. Does his leaner physique actually hamper him when it comes to partnering work and lifts though?

I have seen him alongside Miss Osipova in London, and Miss Zacharova in Milan and he had absolutely no problems with any part of partnering these two dancers.

i think it was fred astaire who insisted that his whole body was in the frame when he was filmed dancing. i find it exasperating when i can't see what the dancer is doing because the camera man pulls into close ups on sections of his body or face. i want to see the dance!!! i want to feel as if i am in the audience. i want to let my own eyes choose what to focus on. this video robs me of so much of this dance. so i am disappointed.

Agreed. I was in a televised show once with my dance studio when I was a teen. The producer was given the direction to make sure legs and feet were in the shot, not just upper bodies. Subsequently, he had shots with JUST our feet. Idiocy.

I think you’re looking at it in the wrong context. If it was a video of a dance performance then yes, I would want to see the whole body, at least most of the time. But I’m guessing the filmmaker’s intention was to create more of cinematic piece, capturing the spirit of the dancer through artistic editing and camera angles rather than documenting choreography. After all, this is not a choreographed performance; It’s snippets of different ideas.

Great dancer but what a horrible cameraman who cuts his legs all the time. It's a film about this cameraperson, not about David. Pity.
