possibly? how about definitely? I'd say when he was on top of his game in '81, (and not drunk or coked up) he was the best in the game. I'd say in terms of pure showmanship etc, he'd be top 10 all time, and maybe even top 3 at his peak. then he descended into parody, sadly.

Must have...lol...David you are by far the most beautiful, smartest, handsome, outrageous guy I'd ever met. Jump played on mtv so much....along with your solo videos...we saw you every single day. Been watching your videos...you couldn't stay with Van Halen...your way too big to have stayed there. I remember thinking, while watching your videos...this guy is so beautiful ( body, hairy chest, blonde hair)...he's totally unattainable. He can't be held down. ....many women have to enjoy him. Well...thank you for entertaining us...we can see through your interviews why you made it and that Van Halen couldn't hold you...you were so much bigger than them. Your awesome and I wish I could have met you, loved you and allowed you do whatever u wanted to do...as long as you were mine!

Saw his first solo tour, the show was in a bar venue MISSISSIPPI NIGHTS in ST. LOUIS, GOT THERE EARLY DAVE was just sitting at the bar getting his drunk on and said to me "If it wasn't for the pretzels on bars I'd be on a strictly liquid diet!" He could of been a comedian he had us laughing constantly....but show wasn't all that, Dave way too hammered, if it wasn't for the great Steve Vai it would of been a horrible show.

Heh. "This chick" is Paula Yates. She was married to "Saint Bob" (Bob Geldof of Boomtown Rats & Live Aid fame). She was a presenter on the British music TV show called The Tube. She famously called Ian Hislop "sperm of the devil" on TV. She had a child with Michael Hutchence (INXS singer who committed suicide/died of auto-erotic asphyxiation) & a few years after his death she died from accidental heroin overdose. Tragic really.
