The guitarist is Steve Vai. He is an amazing musician who has written some of the most creative guitar music of the last 40 years. Definitely a one of a kind player!

I saw this tour and it was insane! Steve Vai is a beast on the guitar! David Lee Roth is a master at mixed martial arts,that's why he's able to do all the kicks and splits

There was a time when he did a reunion with van halen,, and at that show, he brought out his staff, as he was into his routine he missteps and breaks his nose. It took a moment for him to realize he was dripping blood . He also posed for pla**girl in the 80s. Now he's a farmer.

I caught this concert when it was at Madison Square Garden in NYC, and it was about as wild as the video. Roth assembled the most talented musicians on the scene and put on a hell of a show.

David Lee Roth speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese and, I think, some Japanese. He is a legitimate martial arts master and a state-licened EMT, besides being a singer. He also plays guitar, harmonica and synthesizer. A well-rounded guy, you might say. Steve Vai is a guitar genius and appeared with Ralph Macchio in the movie CROSSROADS. He also encourages kids to learn music and recognizes talent when he sees it. On KZfaq, check out Ellen Plays Bass... she's a very young girl with extraordinary talents on the bass guitar... Steve brought her on-stage to perform with him in concert! Very cool! And Billy Sheehan... God's gift to bass guitar!!&! That should cover him!!&! Greg Bissonette is a great drummer! Unfortunately, I don't enough about him, though. They've been trying to get David Lee Roth to reform their group, which would be OUTSTANDING!!&!

The guitarist is Stevie Vai and he played in the movie Crossroads as the Devil’s Guitar player. Good movie. Yankee Rose is about the Statue of Liberty as in the early 80 the statue was going through a restoration period and was covered in scaffolding so shortly when the work was finished Dave came out with this song. Great performer and in my opinion, the best singer for Van Halen!

In the film he played the devil on the soundtrack he played both parts. He helped Ralph Macchio look like he could play but didn't have time to actually train him.

David Lee Roth is a rock legend, and one of the best front men ever. His albums 'Eat 'em and Smile' and 'Skyscraper' are just a ton of fun to listen to, and when he left Van Halen... I actually enjoyed his solo work a bit more than what came next from Van Halen. His single "Just a Gigolo/I Ain't Got Nobody" might be another that you all would enjoy. Also... It can't be understated that David Lee Roth left one guitar god in Eddie Van Halen behind only to hook up with another one in Steve Vai. Diamond Dave has had the amazing fortune to work with 2 of the best guitarists of all time! Great reaction as always ladies!

I saw David Lee Roth live in 1988, acting like a fool in a boxing ring and then flying over the audience on a giant surfboard! To say the least, he and his guitarist Steve Vai exhausted the audience throughout the concert. That was a long time ago!😉

It was 26 during that tour.I'll tell you what his solo career proved.He did not need to be with Van Halen.To be successful but still my favorite era of Van Halen was the Roth era

Guitarist is Steve Vai. As long ago as this video is, I just went and saw him and Joe Satriani in concert a couple of weeks ago. Both are absolutely amazing musicians, and still know how to put on a amazing show. You should check out his guitar battle with Ralph Machio in the movie "Crossroads", it's classic!!....peace

A DLR concert was an EVENT, we all went to party because Dave was there to party. The high energy and perma-grin during his concerts throughout the crowd was unlike any other shows I've ever seen. Also, look into his personal life, the dude is a perpetual world-traveler, going on wild once-in-a-lifetime adventures regularly. Last I heard he was living in Japan learning sword skills but not sure where he is these days.

8:00 --- Last I heard, Dave was an EMT in NYC.. Sadly, no longer performing... Though he did have a solo career for a short time.. The lead guitarist in this video is Steve Vai and he's another outstanding performer in his own right.

This was the band who had to follow up David’s time with Van Halen. Steve Vai could pull off an Edward Van Halen imitation and Billy Sheehan is like the Eddie Van Halen of the bass when you can hear him. There is a video with Steve Vai and Billy Sheehan doing their solo spots together, it’s incredible
