As a lifelong fan, student and teacher of disciplines ranging from the hard sciences to psychology, I found this talk inspirational, especially considered against the background of the current social unrest and distorted power structures. There are ways to *efficiently* compromise between our competitiveness and our need to cooperate. It is the extreme doctrines that attempt to deny one end of the spectrum and cherish the other that seem to cause the most trouble. A little rationality will go a long way, unless those attempting to follow a path of reason trip over the thought-stoppers strewn along the path by extremists on both sides.
