Surely at that time it was an accurate assessment of Eddie’s career, and I love Eddie Murphy. After Beverly Hills Cop 3 it was pretty much all downhill. Minor blip for Nutty Professor, then back to sucking.

David Spade has become my favorite entertainer. Lots of people are funny if they have time to sit down and write material but he is just naturally funny and comes up with great lines off the top of his head. Even if the line isn't funny on paper just his whole demeanor and delivery of it make it funny. Just got back from seeing his talk show live in Hollywood and it was cool to see him up close and how the show runs behind the scenes. Definitely go if ever in Hollywood. It's free so the price is right.

Yeah, it was around 1995 when Eddie’s movie career wasn’t going so well. Spade was on weekend update and showed a picture of Murphy and said “look kids, a falling star. Make a wish.” Murphy was pissed and called Spade at work on Monday to yell at him. He was mad about it for a long time.

New Message The fake sounds will fool the home audience but not the guests. A standup comic needs to interact with a live audience to give his act flow. Without any feedback a comic is lost - the only thing worse that dead crowd is no crowd at all.

I think him taking it so personal was silly, since he was a super rich superstar comedian he should've been able to take a joke lol. But on the other hand does SNL make a habit of dissing their alumni? I can't recall any other instance...plus keep in mind he is the biggest star ever from that show and he saved the show when he was on it. But the MOST ridiculous thing is you thinking Eddie spent 30 years thinking about David Spade lol.

Gerald Boney I couldn’t care less if he saved the show and I would debate you on biggest star from the show (Adam Sandler, Will Ferrel) but I do love Eddies movies, especially the older ones. No, I don’t think he thought about David Spade for 30 years, but it’s Hollywood. David has been asked about this for 30 years now on every talk show and shows like Howard Stern etc. You don’t think anyone eve brought it to to Eddie? No agents, friends, etc? Hell, Chris Rock is friends with both of them. My point is, Eddie was surely aware when this was brought up from time to time, and could have put it to bed 25 years ago...

Immediately searched for this clip when I saw it advertised on Instagram. David Spade is one my favorite comedians since his stint at SNL.
