David, this isn't my "usual" listening genre. (I've been addicted to "Hamilton" for at least 4 months.) I found myself getting into it as it progressed and by the end, was hooked. What talent! My husband had never seen this instrument and watched as we waited for dinner this evening. He was impressed as well. Rock on!

To the ERG haters: remember that doublenecks were a thing at one point. His guitar can hit the same notes as a 5 string bass. Excellent video David 10/10 will buy an album

Fair point, these pickups just don't give the clarity needed in the low end. I think bare knuckle make 9 string pickups (Not a 9 string player so i'm not sure), which would of sounded so much cleaner :)

+Dacaisen J it is very difficult to achieve the same string definition and separation that one might be used to in a player that does not use a pick and play this style of music. interesting song but sometimes there is just mud. again, not a very easy task to achieve in an electric guitar, specially a 9 string one. anyway, great job and kudos to david.

I agree, Dimarzio makes a 9 string D-activator and it would be much better. But also i feel it has more to do with his amp and guitar. Agile is famous for a real thin tone that sounds like tin. And his tone is trying to compensate for the low end to get clarity and snappyness but it has so much fucking treble and mid it's unbearable. I tried liking this dude cause i appreciate his creativity but he needs to dial it down. And by "it" i mean his tone and playing. He is skilled but he goes all over the place and his tone doesn't help his wild songwriting. But i still stand by what i said about liking his creativity because i do, it's interesting and unique. And he has fun it seems too which is most important

+SakustoMusic97 Well sir, you got me. I am arrogant and that other thing you've just called me. To answer your question, I am also a listener, therefore a consumer of the music, albeit not the target one for this musician. That I guess gives me all the rights to label things I hear as "good", "bad" or "BS" from a listener point of view. Ones again, kudos to the guy for pushing the boundaries, but to much is to much.
@SakuRekonen
@SakuRekonen 8 жыл бұрын
+Derek Charette The point you're missing here is that musical taste is subjective. If someone finds enjoyment and joy in listening, writing or playing ''jerking off on the guitar'' is he wrong? Stuff like technical playing ability isn't really debatable and we all are allowed to have our opinions on music, but the problem is you are stating your opinion as a fact. There is in fact a structure, melody, harmony etc. in this song, you just have to listen to it again without preconceptions. You don't have to like the song, but denying its value as music is the thing that caught my eye! Btw, no point in getting into personal insults like "ear-gauged filthy hippie", I thought music was about the music, not looks.

+techdeathcurator Yeah but this is an extreme example. I don't know if you can really compare that with what is being said. I may not care for the music in this video or the style used to play it but it is still music and it still fits the tastes of certain people. This music also adheres to basic principals of music where pulse demon is really not music it is more like an audible expression of "art" because there is no musical structure involved in it.
@toximan2008
