@@pube66 not really Monte was so sluggish he was slapping most of his punches. Tua caught him with punches that would knock most fighters out. And if Monte was clean he would of been knocked out within 4 rounds. For e.g. Mark Hunt and Big Foot first fight Big Foot was juiced up to the Giles the fight went 5 round. Second fight Hunt knocked him out in the first round.

I love seeing all the biased babies try to make excuses for Tua. "All Barrett did was hug!", "He was past his prime!", "He was out of shape!", "Barrett ran!"... that's too bad, guys. We all know Tua would've gone on to join the long, long list of Samoan world champions, had he gotten this decision...oh wait...lol.

At their primes, Tyson was the better boxer but Tua was the tougher one. Tyson at his peak would cut-off any boxers. Poor Tua did not have the foot speed to do that and that is why he lost to all of those skillful hit-and-run boxers. This fight, Tua was on a downward slide. Tua did not have the endurance to hit hard in later rounds.

Man I wish we had heavweights like this today, but its a thing of the past unfortunatley......this stlye is for short fighters - all the best guys at are LEAST 6 foot 3 nowadays, ussually 6'5. Ruiz is the closest thing we've got to a short fighter who throws rapid combos and is always on the front foot, but he lacks the head movement.

I remember watching this fight and feeling gutter'd for Tua when he got dropped in the 12th. Even though this fight was close to the end of his career he still had lots of power and good head movement but slowed down midway through the fight and look'd like he got frustrated with Barrets footwork toward the end. I had the fight 114-112 Barret.

Monte Barret has skills and a height advantage like Cassius Clay 6ft 3inches. He is a division level 4 fighter. wheras Tua is a division 1 fighter and is only 5ft 10inches tall. Both boxers in this fight are past their prime. Monty survived because of his height and reach advantage. It is very fortunate Monty didn't take on Tua in his prime. He would have excited boxing. How did Monty fare against Lennox Lewis.

I didn't care whoever won, but What...A...Fight! I think Barrett's gestures of hugging and clinching TUA has accumulated so much which made the judges think he's being hurt badly by Tua's punches. Without it, the decision could have been otherwise

Including former world champion Michael moorer, Oleg Maskaev, John Ruiz and so on. He was only ever outclassed by Lennox Lewis who knew how to keep him in range and on the outside. Moral of the story is, Tua would've knocked the Hell outta Monte barrett in his Prime, nuf said.

Too much holding. Rules not being enforced. The ref is not enforcing the No Holding Rule. While one boxer runs & then resorts to a wrestling move that is illegal (holding), we are not watching a true boxing match. They use to enforce that rule. Ali lost for holding. But it’s a rule that is not enforced. That’s how Mayweather became undefeated. That ref is CORRUPT! I’ll never watch a fight with that ref.
