About David Bowie:
David Bowie redefined musical genres and the potential of live performance for generations of music lovers. Creating and discarding a variety of personae and restlessly challenging musical boundaries, Bowie released timeless albums including Space Oddity, Hunky Dory, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust…, Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs, Young Americans, Station to Station, "Heroes,” Let's Dance, Heathen, The Next Day and many more. Blackstar, Bowie’s 28th and final studio album, was released on his 69th birthday, January 8, 2016. David Bowie died on January 10, 2016, two days after the release of Blackstar. His body of work, his influence on the worlds of music, art, fashion, film, theatre and beyond, and his legacy of innovation and reinvention will live forever. 2022 kicks off with Bowie at 75, a celebration of his 75th birthday with the Brilliant Adventure box set, the previously unreleased Toy, the 50th anniversary of Ziggy Stardust and a series of special events.

This video. This is what happens if you are lucky enough to grow old with the one you fell in love with when you were young. I'm in my late 50's and so is my wife. Yet I still sometimes see the me of my 20's in the mirror. And I always see the youth in her.

The first time I saw this video was back in 1999, at 18; and I had barely an understanding of the significance of David Bowie. I heard a few of the essentials, but when this video premiered on VH1 late one night, I was hypnotized by it and didn’t quite understand the emotions I had from seeing it; but from there... I wanted to know more about this man and his legacy. I’m very grateful I did, because his music changed my life.

Same here. I saw it first a bit younger on VIVA or MTV, can't remember, but actually got the proper DVD video collection when 18, having a bit of income. Now, I'm getting older, though still angry, I do recollect stuff from decade-half ago I should have seen differently. Soon it will be 2 decades, 3 decades... If I live that long. BTW, I don't know if everyone actually gets the point, but the Bourgeois lady isn't the funky goth girl he pushed away as a rebellious youth. And now he's Bourgeois. Bowie used the theme quite often.

Disagree... See "Letting Go" like "Walking Away", as relationships have their own respective Lives or Terms. People who were once close can drift apart, as they mature or become fascinated by other interests or people, it seems. Best to honest and strive to be Fair to each other when this occurs, and not bully or take advantage. Any Thoughts?

Besides being a beautiful and haunting song, I can relate to it personally. "Thursday's child has far to go." I was not born on that day but the saying seemed to apply to me. I was a "late bloomer", not achieving much personal or professional success until I was about 40. "Everything fell into place" for me starting then. Out of nowhere I met the woman of my dreams; we have been married 23 years and still love each other beyond words. I had some bad luck jobwise circa 2001-2008 that was not my fault (companies unexpectedly went out of business, surprise layoffs, etc.) but through friends, I found a great position that I retired from three years ago. (I am 64 now.) I have truly been blessed and my wife and I continue to be so. What can I say about Mr. Bowie that has not been said? The man could do anything musically. May he rest in peace; his art will live forever.

Your sense of humour never grows older than 12. In your mind you never grow any older than 27. Your body just keeps asking if you are sure that you are not dead yet. There is only one thing worse than growing old. . . . not growing old. . . .. As a teenager David was my go-to-safe-place - in my bedroom listening to The Man Who Sold The World or whatever and for 40 minutes or so I knew exactly what life had in store for me, knew every word, every note. I still listen to him. Every song earmarks a chapter of my life. I am glad I found him. Thank-you David.

My goodness when I first saw him in Santa Monica in 1972. I had no clue that in 2022 he’d still be so pivotal in my life. His music will always be and has always been the work of a pure genius. So powerful the messages and depth change and grow as I age. I’ve saw him more than any other musical artist, live. If he played 7 nights in LA I’d attend each show, call it an addiction. Later in life when I lived in Alabama near where I lived I’d go there to see him. I could not stay home if he was anywhere near close, I’m am so glad I always made it a priority. Now it is a double edged beginning to every year as each year one always starts out with extra Bowie videos. This particular one I dol believe I recall this video so even with my over saturation I hadn’t seen it but so glad I have now. It is very moving. He had this magic of story telling with the simplicity of his persona that was huge. I have always loved this song very much. In the past it was because of his birthday that we’d see hi more at years end and years beginnings. January his birthday and now its coupled with his passing. It is and will always be for me a time of year when i reflect on my fortune to witness him live so often. He is still so moving and special and wonderful that we will always have them to hear and relate to them with his powerful the ability to create memories that continue to inspire my thoughts. His image continues to be new they are all still cherished moments I will always be impressed by. Perhaps even more because its so very special to have them forever as we all continue to change and age his music always will move me and I I feel so blessed to have had the amazing good fortune of seeing him at every opportunity chance I got I relished it and took it on. There is and will always be more to absorb.
