@@DavidBurkus I'm from Canada. What is your advice? Same here being bullied, mobbed, gaslighting, harassed at the hospital for over 14 years. I've happened to be the top worker for 39 years and have never been suspended. These bullies are jealous haters and are very miserable people. Union, manager, HR and the police are all totally useless. Bullies are lazy bums and stupid managers are scared of the bullies. They say I'm crazy, I drink, I'm a stalker who follows women after work. All bs defamation of character. The biggest mistake since they removed disciplinary measures. They should arrest the bullies and fire the manager. Action speaks louder than nasty words. It destroys my reputation. I will never quit to make these lazy bums ever win. If I decide to transfer to another hospital and may start gaslighting, smearing and bullying me once again, I don't know all the new managers etc. like in every department like now. So best to not change hospitals. I will never let bullies try to control me from quitting. Just don't react and don't try to defend myself which will only go back and forth making me look even more guilty. Action always speaks louder than words. Just best to ignore them and let them find another easier target. Never let these low life lazy bums ever win.

Giant red flag: nepotism arrangements. When the boss' wife/husband works in the office. Especially if they're not qualified for the role. Run far, far away and don't ever accept the job. Nothing good ever comes out of that. Or any form of nepotism really (friends, family members, etc). You, as the employee, will always be "wrong". Not to mention, if you have a legitimate complaint about a spouse, you can't exactly bring that up to the boss. Nepotism harms morale in the office.

That's so true. I've fallen for this sin myself. I accepted a job offer from my group mate. We never really were friends, but I was desperate, and decided that job is job. I was wrong. The CEO of that company worked with his wife and other people were his wife's friends, including my groupmate. So I was of course the odd one. It was exhausting. I felt really vulnerable and all my actions were micromanaged and judged. Even my groupmate would be nitpicking on me. That was a horrible experience

(And) if you embrace happiness, individualism (or holiday cheer), the mobbing began as if it’s something wrong with you for being happy (goes along with sabotaging g, exclusion, bullying, mobbing and gaslighting) oftentimes handed down from someone in leadership; if you’re made to cry on your job…welll (My source: Dr Gary Namie “The Bully at Work”).

Yea, or you are that way, but they want all the attention and want it done their way. So they try to get you to only socialize as part of a specific group of people only in the office. And they sabotage you if you dont. They dont understand you are an individual. Office environments are horrible.

Currently in a role with a high turnover, been there for 7 months and already had 3 different managers, and my colleagues have all changed since being there. Previous employees were mentioned very early on in my role that they "didn't perform and were gotten rid of" yet one by one all my colleagues drop like flies.... I remain positive and hopeful... Worked hard, was repeatedly told my work was excellent and high quality. Was supposed to have a 6 months probation, but didn't hear anything... Assumed all was going well (as had been my feedback in all 121 meetings) next thing I know, month 7 and I have just been told I didn't pass my probation period.

Just saw this clip after an awful day at work. Very helpful, thank you. I am 20, currently working a customer service job at entry level and I believe I'm experiencing all 4 symptoms. But the ones that stood out to me were recreational complaining and defaulting to the status quo. It seems that every job I work at, the managers' best skills are complaining about the work they get paid to do, how it's really hard to do it, and how much they don't like other people they work with. And even though they complain about very specific things that are, supposedly, detrimental to the workplace functioning properly, in their everyday work they do everything to AVOID addressing these issues. You know, their job. That they get paid accordingly to do. This leads to ATROCIOUS morale because the only thing anyone recognizes about management is that they are incredibly bad at it. I bring my best self to work every single day and put in 110%, but the people who get paid twice as much as me NEVER have the same drive and also put me and others down for wanting to change things. If I'm being honest, I feel hopeless with work. I have to have a job to help pay for school, but many people at my work level cannot find any job with competent management nowadays.
@DavidBurkus

Sorry to hear that Samantha. The good news, is that great company cultures exist...and that when you finish school you'll be more likely to find them and have the negotiating power to only accept offers from culture's you feel good about joining. In the meantime, there's likely even part-time work you can find that would be more enjoyable than where you're at now.

I work with antagonists who try to antogize you when you are just trying to compliment them or they give you weird looks when you do. There are certain employees who don't use their abilities to antagonize you. They don't reap the rewards & the ones who don't do. I see myself in the category of the complainer. I'm not going to be in the eyes of the complainer but instead on the opposite end. Great video and a lot of great insight! I appreciate the support! ❤️ back at you bro! One thing I have to offer to you & others on here, is to not take boldness from those that have not had to take bold terms and place them into their life. I feel like I can take on anything now just by listening to you for these 30 sec's that I did. Me feel empowered now! 😀

How about a manager who gives you instructions then writes you up for following those instructions because “you should know those instructions are obsolete.” As tho it’s my job to update company policies & resources when I can’t even have a pee without permission? Or writes you up for taking time off (when you were on leave) so they can disqualify you for the year end bonus? Or writes you an email every 5 mins while you’re working to remind you that you’re working? That’s extremely toxic.

You're employer hounds you and threatens punishment for you to go out of your way to get these certifications in order to make your boss look better on paper (not because you want them). You schedule the test & it falls on a work day, you pass your test & get certified but also get severely punished for not being at work the day of your test that you had to set up through your work. They remove you from you daily job that you earned as punishment and mandate you into a job for new people who haven't earned anything again as punishment for passing the test.

At my job my boss is a d**k sometimes. The manger (his husband) is a bit nicer and not as strict. We can’t be on our phones or even speak to each other, but my coworker and I talked to him about this because we can’t stare at a screen all day long, so at least we can talk sometimes. Also at some point he complained I made “too many mistakes” when the mistakes were very insignificant, not that often and they were not hindering the job or the work or others. He would complain if I had to ask him a question twice to verify, which is something I don’t do all the time of course. Idk he makes me feel like I need to walk on egg shells around him and I hate that. I loved the job at the beginning but his cocky attitude has made me lose passion for the job. I should be comfortable to make mistakes around higher ups in order to get better and I can’t. Also I was left to figure out al lot of things by myself and then scolded when I didn’t do them exactly like he wanted them to be done. I’m only there for a letter of recommendation for graduate school. At this point I’m doing my best, if he doesn’t give me a great letter because I wasn’t perfect like my coworker is, based on his actions with her, then that’s okay, I know I’m doing a good job even though Its not perfect. I won’t be there for ever anyways. But to any boss out there, treat your employees nicely because most of the time they leave because of YOU!

I would like everyone's advice on this. I work as cashier for b&m stores. I was badly verbally abused by my manger and ill treated. I know my challenge 25 and when a customer turns up at my till with no id and underage... I refused the sale as they were underage... I did nothing wrong...but my supervisor went and told my manger ive had a serious incident...and to my horror my manager pulled me aside and began shouting at me....he was not listening to me :-( in done this abruse before on my first few weeks at work where the area manager arranged a meeting... and my manger then apologised. Coming to here and now, I reported the incident to HR and sent my witness statement too alongside the mangers ill treatment to me and other staff too. He also called his hard working staff retards this hurts me so much as the staff work very hard.... and are not retards:-( I have been waiting for HR to contact me and resolved my issue.. instead my letter was passed down to a team leader and no mangers.... this team woman calls me and tried to put words into my mouth to my horror and said i gave in my notice in and told my manger I'm leaving the b&m store. I never gave any written statement or verbally. In my 9 letter page plus and statement I not once wrote about my termination of my contract or mentioned it at all...instead been pleading with them to resolve my issue as the manager has a bad behaviour and reeks of heavy alcohol at work. I have tried to find the directors details to email all letters and the email dialogue from HR today to tell them what's HR has done and my store mangers... I feel betrayed HRhave covered it up consideringi also sent a witness satement too... I am 55 year old and never had an experience such as this its left me mortified. I am very genuine and a lightworker... I heal people and gifted from birth i see people setiny on their their as well as voice writings.... and to experience evil people is a eye opener. Beautiful souls who reads this please give me advice what further I can do. B&M HR have terminated my contractwithout my consent and no reason as to why and have listened to the lies of a branch manager with jeckle and hyde traits...taking into note I did nothing wrong... its was a no id no sale... I couldn't tell acholol to underage but got punished instead of being praised for not selling to underage. He's shouts at you infront of everyone...its very humiliating. He has behaviour problems... my boss is toxic and shocking how HR have supported him and fobbed me off ..

I suppose what to do depends entirely what you want to get out of this experience. I'm not a lawyer, but if what you said is all documented you have a very good wrongful firing case. (But may or may not be able to get much out of it in terms of compensation.) If what you want is closure, then walk away, find a new job, and be grateful that you discovered who your manager and the organization truly are before something worse happened.

@@DavidBurkus Hi again, Your words are very powerful and wise thank you... for your advice too given to me.... and deeply appreciated . HR cannot terminate a contract with a staff member's consent and especially when I did nothing wrong but had a strong letter of negligence. This is very wrong what they did.Everyone has a voice especially when I am innocent I have gotten punished for doing a good thing by not selling alcohol to a underage who had no ID as proof of her age.I could have easily sold the alcohol to underage and the company could have been fine as the customer was underage, the customer could also have been a mystery shopper. I cannot get it round my head how I was shouted at for doing the right things and how the HR have taken a lie from the manager saying I told him verbally I am never terminating my contract. This is a lie.The manager has lied so he doesn't get into trouble. This has revealed to me that a manager can abuse his staff and get away with it. No wonder he is very ego headed. I kid you not he is a jekyll and hyde character. No wonder bosses are getting away with this kind of behavior with HR back up support.... I even had a witness statement they have fobbed off too.....We the employees have no chance. So much happened in this store and even the talk of the town. I do strongly believe the universal law seeks justice for the innocent; it's only a matter of time. Thank you kindly for your support and apologies for the late reply. I am from the United kingdom. What I have said is true. IAnyway thank you so much for reaching out.. I had customers warning me to be careful because management is bad in the store. This was very concerning for me and as time unfolded here we are.Taking note also, we cannot blame the owners of the company because they think they have taken on good managers and HR team, little do they know whats happening behind the scenes. This are totally unaware what happened to me in their company. I hold nothing against the directors of the firm...it the HR staff and managers.... And you are right, I wish I also had the money to take this head on, something `i learnt from life was stay true to yourself and fight for what is true and what you believe. Yes I have leant so much from this store and HR... I have a great career record until I came to this store I was horrified what was happening. This is all raw from yesterday and I am still trying to process the shock of it all. And how HR not ding anything wrong terminated me, unbelievable!

If the senior tells you you are progressing, yet during the formal chat, they remain quiet and let the manager tell you otherwise, without stepping in for you Or when not all your tasks were thaught and scheduled, yet you were expected to cover all tasks under a year. When asked how succes is measured and no answer is given, yet during the job, numbers are retrieved on how bad one is doing
