Psalm 71 explains how God is our refuge in older years, giving continual hope and strength.
It is reasonable to think the author of Psalm 71 made study and meditation upon God’s word a priority through his life, and the result is that he naturally used the phrases and vocabulary of the Scriptures to pray and praise.

This is a comforting psalm for my husband and I as we are in our older years and can relate to the issues of growing older. You have a delightful spirit and thank you for sharing your thoughts and knowledge of God’s holy words!

I'm just wondering why the kjv says, "Let me never be put to confusion," and the others say,'Let me never be put to shame'?

We need to remember that the Psalms were written in Hebrew, and that they are then translated into different languages. Languages can be a bit fluid, and can have many nuances that can be difficult to translate. That is the reason for various translations and interpretations. Sometimes a word in one language can mean multiple things, so translators do their best to bring forth the meaning from the original text. I hope that this helps.
