WEALTHY 570 Y’all always talking shit about America.There are over 50 states here and so many people that have different interest.You can’t compare use to places that are the size of one state in America.Our country isn’t small enough to have one type of music shoved down our throats and we just suck it up.And each Genre has to be responsible for getting there music here and on our radio stations so that we can hear it just like how our music companies get our music out around the world.

@Barn 7 His father working against him??? You must have missed the part where he said his father built him a studio and became his no1 fan. Of course his father was pissed he disobeyed him by dropping out of school without telling him, but that's all it was really, his father telling him "I'm still the man". $700M worth, yes his dad is still the man.

no offence but when it come to nigerian celebrities 99 percent of them come from riches. There is no balance. In America, atleast it isnt all that unrealistic to dream, but in nigeria or most african nations. because of their corrupt society there is rarely such a thing as making it from rags to riches. if that was the case 60 percent of nigerians wouldnt be living in poverty. Davidos dad may not have given him handouts but he build the road up for him and to top that off it would have been his families connections he used wisely..same with Wizkid. I am not taking anything away from Davido though. HE has a raw talent and has blessed us with it.

@@mikedino8014 OBO (Omo baba Olówó) is an acronym consisting of his and dads title. It means "son of a rich man." In Africa, your dad or folks run your life from cradle even until after you're a father or mother yourself...and if they're rich, it'll take a miracle to break out of their hold. Did you hear him say he was last of 5 kids and only him broke away into his dreams...the way he said the story, only a true Nigerian can relate with the real struggle. It must have been pretty hard to branch out and succeed.

Sucks to hear people judge him because his father is successful, when clearly he has tremendous talent that no amount of money could create... I personally being from America loved hearing this story about a rich and powerful black man, who pushes and supports his children. We don’t get those stories about us all the time due to systematic and historical racism. So I think that aspect of his life should be admired and set an example. I’m excited for Davido.

Rich or poor, in most Nigerian cultures, its the duty of the parent s to push you to achieve great things. The family is still very important in our culture so the family has a say in your life forever. During enslavement and Jim Crow the black family was weakened and destroyed in America, it's time to restore it. 1 love.

Lord knows I love Davido, and I mean this with absolutely no shade, but you're asking a young man who's father has a net worth of $700 million, what Nigeria is like. His interpretation of the country is going to be completely different from most people's reality. Nigeria, and many African countries alike, have their own Hollywood scene going on, but it is in a very concentrated part of the country. Ask your Nigerian mates about the difference between mainland and island (Lekki, Aja, Banana Island, V.I, etc.) On the flip side, Nigeria is a great country to travel to in terms of indigenous cultural preservation and resiliency of a people. I find that what most people fail to mention about going to an African country, is it being a humbling experience. I just want to reiterate that even as advanced as we are, if you're coming from a "first world" society, you will face a few challenges, even when on vacation in Naija. Anyhow, needless to say, we no dey carry last lol.
@e.amensah
@e.amensah 5 жыл бұрын
I understand your point but he asked HIM what Nigeria was like and there definitely isn't one picture that every Nigerian sees so he will tell you How Nigeria is like from what he sees. Other people will tell a different story on how Naija is like but it's okay because we've all got different lives with different experiences.

It hurt me so Bad, that its now the States just started getting into the African hip-hop, Even Davido, can never open that His mouth to call himself an Afro.hip-hop Legend, There are so much that have happened back home that we only had on CDs, they were never online, i know the UK follow up with some, but not all, when you are 3months in Nigeria you will see too much talents, we all grew up with almost everything from the US, from the Break dance, movies, music, the gangs, they all influence we Nigerians, am happy now that you are showing us love back.......Thanks !!!

Haitians love Davido O', lol!!!!!!! What I love about Davido is that although he comes from money, he decided not to live on family (Dad's money) He made his own money. I respect that!!!!!! I have an AA friend who is now a millionaire because he got on a plane to open a business in Nigeria. I love the culture!!!!!!!!!

He's American born, spent his early childhood and all his summers in America, went to college and lived in America for years. This sounds like his natural default accent . I think he switches to the Naija accent for credibilty - his platform is afrobeats afterall . The dude is really more American than Nigeria.....
