After exploring the phenomenal food and gorgeous sites of San Pedro and Caye Caulker in Belize, I headed to another of the country’s tourism hotspots: Placencia! Come with me and let’s explore the cuisine of this beautiful beach town!

CARMEN’S KITCHEN: At this local street food spot, I tried two similar dishes: salbutes and garnaches. Both are made from fried corn tortillas, but the salbutes come topped with shredded chicken, while garnaches always come with refried beans. Both dishes also add cabbage, pico de gallo, and habanero salsa. The garnaches also add cheese!
OMAR’S KITCHEN: After watching the cooks in the kitchen, I tried some delicious conch fritters, some light and flaky lionfish tacos, and some large and meaty prawns. The Creole crab was the highlight. The achiote in the sauce made it extra flavorful!
BREWED AWAKENINGS CAFE: Here, I had a cold brew coffee to wake up and a rich and unique seaweed milkshake made with seaweed, coconut milk, vanilla, sweetened milk, nutmeg, whole milk, and whipped cream!
BIG TITTY RUM BAR: Here, I tried several amazing rums, including a spiced rum, extra dark rum, habanero rum, rum liqueur, and nut liqueur. The rum liqueur reminded me of Baileys, while the nut liqueur almost tasted like Nutella and was very creamy!
BAREFOOD BAR: At this bar along the Tipsy Strip, we tried some Belizean bitters, fried breadfruit with habanero ketchup, and smoked mackerel dip with tortilla chips. I love breadfruit, and the mackerel dip had a deep richness with a bit of freshness from the added lime juice.

What a lovely village!! I love this .Love the atmosphere of the whole village just awesome. Relaxing friendly beautiful delicious to! garnaches i love that yummy. The seafood omg im so there all of this food looks amazing. Beat that crab david lol Spank it good imao.. Love it when you get in there get all in the mix making food :D head to the Rum my favorite drink ever :) Love the vibe of this beach man one place would have to be on bucket list.. Good morning David. Holy mackerel, the dip looks like tuna.😂😂😂. What a delightful Dr. Laura to take you around Placencia. It's so nice when you go to places and see how everything is so simple: life, natural foods, freshly made products and happy, friendly people. Man, you pounded the life out of the crab that was already dead🦀🤣🤣🤣. I have to check out Walmart here in Toronto for the products she talked about: we get Grace products here but I am not sure about the pepper sauce. Anyway, any video done near the beach is so relaxing and enjoyable to watch. Have a good day and weekend. Hi David I believe what they called sea weeds is what we call sea moss in the Eastern Caribbean. Sea moss has great medicinal benefits. Enjoy your trip to Belize🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨

SeaWeed is The Same as Sea Moss. I Bought 5 Lbs in Oakland Park Flea Market. My Mom Used To Make That Drink. If You Visit Joy's ROTI DELIGHT In LAUDERHILL They've Got A Water-Down Juice Sold There. ❤ JOY'S Been Around For Over 30 YEARS IN SOFLO. Check Them Out Sometimes. ( TRINIS)

Oh wow 🎉 street food is the best everywhere in the world. I’m drooling 🤤 whoa that seaweed shake is something.. I love sweet and salty.. omg I wanna try! Lol “fat pus*y, big t*tty rum” 🐈‍⬛so awesome 🤣 but it’s cool they put seaweed in that too.. so complex, so many flavors - label was cute too (I’m a sucker for good label designs) Ahh still need to try breadfruit, always been curious but every time I see you eat it you make it look soooooo good!!! Placencia is so extremely expensive. I saw people walking around hungry. Restaurants were almost empty.

I thought Ambergris Caye and spots like that were the pricey part of Belize. Not Placentia! I thought Placentia was one of the affordable retirement areas. If not Placentia, where? PG?

@molnarviktor9934. David wears a white sleeve to protect his tattoos from the heat and hot sun. Sometimes he wears it and sometimes not, depending on where he goes. Hope that explains it.
