Davie504 Can I just say that I’ve seen many videos like yours and I always see people comment about how they love the bass or some other instrument, but they just can’t seem to get the hang of it. I just want to give them some advice and I hope you can help me share it. Not everyone is necessarily meant to play certain instruments, usually it’s a personality thing but it can even be a physical thing. Certain people are best suited to certain instruments. like Davie and the bass are a match made in bass heaven. I was lucky enough to have a music teacher back when I was really young who gave me this advice and she helped my find my instrument. I’m a sax player (any sax doesn’t matter which one) and I like to dabble with piano and violin. could never get the hang of the bass or the guitar. my fingers just didn’t want to move like that no matter how hard I tried or practiced. I remember how i wanted to play the guitar sooo bad. when my teacher finally came to me and asked me to try another instrument we tried out one instrument each week and when we got to the alto sax, it was like removing excalibur from the stone. I took to the sax like a damn fish to water. within a month or two I was riffing on the sax like i was playing a guitar solo. I even figured out a way to make a noise with a bari sax that sounded kinda like slapping a bass😂 and that made me so happy, having wanted to play the bass just to be able to do something that could replicate it on the sax. (I would take the mouth piece off and plug that end then start tapping the keys really hard. we put a mic up to it and I actually played like that for one of our songs during a band concert.) For anyone in the comments right now who dream of playing the bass, but struggle as hard as I did. It’s okay if you can’t get it. try another instrument. trust me. we all can play something, it might not be that super cool bass or guitar, but when you find your instrument, you’ll be able to make sounds come out of that thing that would make you ask yourself why you wasted soo much time on that one instrument just cuz you thought it was cool when now you can do shit that’s just as cool on this instrument that best suits you.
