I think we can agree that while Michael Wisher defined who Davros was as a character, both Terry Molloy and Julian Bleach were helpful in showing us just to what lengths Davros would go in pursuit of his mad ambitions.

I like the contrast between Four and Twelve's style of dialogue. First meeting Davros, Four keeps some distance and regards him just as the villain of the week. So used to him by now, Twelve just treats him like that annoying guy at the pub who always think you want to talk.

That's probably my favourite Doctor-Davros scene, Capaldi and Julian Bleach just bounce off each other soooo well, the Series 9 opener should've just been focused on those 2, unfortunately it got shoved to the side by Clara again 🙄

Yes, I did like Davros in that story. What was really clever about it was how it all turned out to be a trick. Davros really showing how clever he could be here into manipulating the doctor to believe him.

Enjoyed the Davros return in Journey's end, but seeing how the character has developed from the beginning to now, genuinely intrigued how much more they can take with him. Feel there's definitely 1 more big story with him.

I will always support the idea that Davros is the greatest of the worst of the Doctor’s foes. He made the Daleks, nearly destroyed all reality, all without the benefit of being a Timelord or even having a working body. His genius and megalomania are simply unmatched and he is terrifying in a way no other enemy is. If the Master is the Doctor’s Moriority than Davros is his Devil. Davros and his Daleks are the antithesis of everything the Doctor stands for.

One thing ill say about the whole "last talk" davros played on the doctor just goes to show how well he knows the doctor and knows how to get him to drop his defences it really goes to ahow how smart he is and just how far he is willing to go to be the victor in this chess match with the doctor.

I love the Doctor and Davros's long lasting relationship being similar to that of Spider-Man and Doctor Octopus, or Sonic the Hedgehog and Eggman where the two characters are two sides of the same coin, but one is good and the other is bad, but they also have rare moments when the two put aside their differences and have seen eye to eye with something they can both agree on. Davros, Doc Ock and Eggman aren't entirely evil, as there is a part in each of these mad scientists where they consider themselves trying to do the right thing from their perspective.

And the wavelength will continue, breaking through the rift at the heart of the Medusa Cascade into every dimension, every parallel, every single corner of creation. This is my ultimate victory, Doctor! The destruction of reality itself!" ~ *Davros, Journey's End*

'Genesis' set the bar with the first ever appearance of Davros. The scene you chose about holding the power to destroy all life in his hand was just perfect... I think the next time we saw a character that deliciously unhinged was Nabil Shaban's 'Sil' in Vengeance on Varos... They both have a very similar quietly condescending / gratingly maniacal hair-trigger persona.

The first version of Davros I saw was Julian Bleach, but I also remember seeing clips from Remembrance of the Daleks around the same time (the "unlimited rice pudding" scene). I think Julian Bleach is my favourite Davros, but my favourite Davros episode is Resurrection of the Daleks, the first classic story I got on DVD. I was so hyped when Davros returned in the Series 9 premiere, it's just a shame he was given less than half the focus he deserved

Now Davros is to be changed so as not to upset wheelchair users. By the same logic, what is to be done about all the able-bodied Dr.Who villains? Is that implying all able-bodied people are evil? And what about associating ugliness with evil. How many Who enemies does THAT cover? R.T. Davies is going to have to make a lot of changes.

Russell sees a problematic trend. You know what I see? I see an iron willed scientific genius that refuses to die. I see a man who refused to let his disfigurement slow him down. I see a badass motherfucker that channelled his rage, pain and suffering into an unstoppable drive to survive. A scientific genius that rescued his entire species from extinction, recreated them in his own image, and uplifted them into an empire powerful enough to challenge the Time Lords. I don't really care what Russell says, man's an inspiration. Fuck Russell. All hail Davros.
