i like the your room name "singing civet" i think it has a very cute and funny meaning since in a common srilankan home sometimes you will have a civet cat running on the ceiling. usually civet cats are nocturnal so at the night they roam between the roof and the ceiling they are quite annoying since they make so much noise when walking and also they tend to pee on the ceiling which drips down in to the house. so since your room is in the upper floor i think the room name comes from that reference.

My husband and I live overseas and make a trip there each time we come back to Sri Lanka. My parents - who live in Sri Lanka - go up there at least once a month. Thank you for promoting the boutique hotel and your experience of it. It is such a little gem in the jungle and a place very close to our hearts 💕

The game with the mallets is called "Crochet", pronounced krokay. It is a lawn game in which you use the mallets to hit the wooden ball of your color around a course of wickets, which are set out in a separated pattern, followed by stake. You must get your ball through a wicket, or two, to hit the stake with your ball before going onto the next wicket and stake. It is competitive, and you may use your ball to strike another players ball to drive them off course, in order to cause them to take longer to complete the course. First to complete the course wins.
