I plan to retire at 62 in another country outside the US that is free, safe and very cheap with a high quality of life. I could fully just rely on only my SS if I wanted to when that times arrives but I'll also have at least one pension, a 403 (b) and a very prolific lnvestment account with my Abby Joseph Cohen my FA. Retiring comfortably in the US these days is almost impossible. I honestly don't understand why people don't move to another country when they get older in retirement. It seems everybody has excuses for almost anything to not take action to better their situation.

Abby Joseph Cohen hooked me up with a late-stage fund that got me in on private shares of some hot companies before they hit the market or blew up. Those investments totally paid off when the companies went public and their stocks shot up. Now, I'm stoked because I'm heading into retirement with almost a million bucks in my portfolio.

Thank you David Roodt it’s always a pleasure this listen to this man speak regarding economics, and I totally agree with his analysis for the future of South Africa, we are not out of the woods yet and not sure we will ever be. Unfortunately the people who should be listening to this analysis are not there. The ANC government is totally illiterate with regard to economics and that is the main reason we are a failed state.

Thanks, Mr Roodt. I think South Africa need to change a lot of their policies. South Africa need change, and thats how they will grow the economy. The GNU must talk things thoroughly. Leave egos aside and put South Africa first. First tackle crime. Bring back law and stability. Bring back fairness to all and not only favor some. We also need to talk more about Diversity in all structures of business and especially in government. We need different parties to observe all sectors of government to curb curroption. GNU needs to look at the best man or woman for the Minister of Finance.

Watch this space: Cyril Ramaphosa has used companies to make Billions, I hope he is not doing the same with South African people. Ramaphosa amassed his billions through black empowerment deals and business interests in numerous top companies. Before leaving business for politics in 2014, he served for over a decade as MTN chairman and nine years as Bidvest chairman. He was also a non-executive director at Alexander Forbes, Macsteel, SABMiller, and Standard Bank.

As a car guard in Johannesburg i can only agree with Dawie Roodt the economist. He is so klever in his predictions. Like for instance he wants us to earn a maximum wage, so instead of R 5 per car we can ask for a higher wage because the minimum wage doesn't matter anymore. I know this is a hot potato situation for the ANC. The economy is destroyed. Many are jobless

So, if the government actually balanced its budget, where would the bond market be? Germany was very successful at creating small business - oh, they have 722 co-operative banks. When Mao was finished cocking things up in China, the next man created 2000 banks and private businesses got going. If there was fair trade I would have no problem with free trade.
@thomasbentele2468
@thomasbentele2468 6 күн бұрын
So true. The small banks here in Germany with their backup of a dozen state owned Landesbanken saved us in 2008. The banker elites tried to dry out our credit market, while the small and medium, non private banks didn't stop credit creation and saved our ass. So the money elites with their central banks, their Basel institue, their EU-commission and so on creates now overwhelming regulations to kill smaller banks, while only big banks can stand the bureaucratic burden. The Landesbanken were damaged by Standard and Poors and Goldman Sachs' "Alphabet" ABS. The small cooperative banks have to merge and create bigger units, what cuts the benefit for our economy little by little and gets us to more and more towards bigger banks. They stay cooperative banks, what's good, but the management moves away from the smallest innovations, Beaus they dont have any longer the manpower for every business chance. They have to use their matrix, what can't pragmatically serve everybody interest. By the way, do you know Prof. Dr. Richard Werner and his book: "Princes Of The Yen"? He always highlights that credit guidance into the productive economy is essential. Newly created credit shall be forbidden to go to speculators and the financial "economy" In Germany this was partly implemented. The cooperative banks and the Landesbanken were not allowed to finance speculation. Our big private banks (Deutsche Bank, Commerzbank....) developed an ethical guide to serve Germany without governmental pressure. The murder of Alfred Herrhausen marked the change from serving the country to only serve the shareholder, what ever damage it causes. Why does such an intelligent man like Mr. Roodt not know anything about this topic and only repeat the myth of creative destruction as apathy to wealth, what doesn't need to happen, if credit creation and guidance is managed properly.

The number 1 reason for businesses' tanking is "management incompetence". Whilst your businesses went under, thousands thrived and new ones came to fore and prospered. Why did yours fail and other (similar) ones made their owners wealthy? Taking accountability for own failures is something that (sadly) so many humans struggle with. It doesn't matter the circumstances, some of the most wealthy people on this planet, succeeded at business whilst others in much more favourable conditions (like a democratic SA) fail.

With regards to the Fiscal account conversation @21:17. In a 2018 Daily Maverick article written by Mr, van Heerden he posed the following question “Are you aware that when the ANC took over government in 1994, it found the fiscus in a dire state. In fact, more to the point, the country was in the red, in debt to the tune of US$23-billion - in other words, bankrupt - and that it managed over time to fix that and now has healthy reserves to the tune of $65-billion, which it managed to build up over the last 24 years?”

"The Curse of the Jews."? This belief holds that those who seek to harm or persecute the Jewish people or the State of Israel will ultimately suffer misfortune, defeat, or downfall. "The Lord will keep you from all harm" (Psalm 121:7) "He who curses you will be cursed, and he who blesses you will be blessed" (Numbers 24:9). Look what happened to the ANC after they prosecuted Israel! They lost 17% of the vote ... 71 seats in parliament ... and more is to come?

Do you realise that the ukraine heart that you have does not really help your point, they have countless neo nzi's in their ranks, which is ironic because historically in WW2, these people killed loads of Jewish people. And Isreal is not what it was at the time the bible was written, after the death of Jesus, we all became God's chosen people, we just need to choose him, so to think that Isreal is some how still being preferred by God is in my opinion insane and goes against the message that Jesus came to deliver. I can assure you that there are people in Isreal and all over the world that go against the message of the Bible and these people will not be spared from God's wrath regardless if they are from Isreal or not.

We have an oligopolistic economy and a society that is the highest wealth inequal society in the world, which is also racial bias. This is a recipe of a revolution by the masses who are economically excluded. Signs of this was July 2021. It didn't take much push for the masses to cause billions of Rands in damages. Those conditions are still a real risk. From about 2000 we had economic growth while experiencing a blood bath in the labour market. Only by addressing inclusion in the economy by the masses will mitigate this risk. The average world unemployment rate is +/- 5% this should be aiming for. Big business and government alone can never achieve this. We need the economy to be driven by at least 60% by SMMEs. The failure of the 6 previous administrations was their failure to create policies that will lead to our economic engine being small and medium enterprises. The policies instead have favored our oligopoly businesses / Industry and have not supported innovation in products, processes and productivity. Neglecting transformation remains an important risk. I wish Dawie Roodt touched on this risk. As it is said, no wall is high enough to protect the ultra-wealthy when the revolt comes.
@thomasbentele2468
@thomasbentele2468 6 күн бұрын
Small/medium enterprises need small/medium cooperative banks. Why not to found them. Are there bureaucratic hurdles in SA. In GB you wouldnt even need a banking licence to create credit for your customers, when you dont take in deposits. The members give the money for the capital stock, and off you go. OK, works only in an environment with rule of law.
