Can't believe this movie is 17 years old. Still feels fresh as ever

The character development of CJ from selfish asshole willing to kill everyone to live, to one of the key members and selfless mofo is one of my favorite parts of the movie. I watched Army of the Dead (it was fun), but Zack's Dawn of the Dead will always have a special place in my heart. Still one of my favorites and I love watching it at least one or twice a year.

Man, imagine surviving a zombie apocalypse just to be killed by an old man with a chainsaw ON ACCIDENT!!! Dude wasn’t even trying to kill her!!!

That old dude with the chainsaw is the real villain of this movie

Why they let that old man crank up a chain saw and then tell the driver to floor it with a hard left😫

What's interesting about this movie is how zombies seem to have some sense of caution and even pain. Notice how they hesitate to run up the stairs noticing they have guns. Also throughout the movie you can see they notice pain.

I felt so bad for the guy who fell into the sewer and more than likely broke his leg. He was shooting at those zombies as CJ tried to save him as well as himself but there were simply far too many zombies with potentially limitless energy that just kept going after them. Cudos to CJ for trying to save him though. He gave him mercy when the zombies bit into him in the end.

0:59 I like how he called Andy "brother" showing how much their relationship developed throughout the movie.

I like how the security guy went from total asshole to by far their biggest helper. It's like he knew he fucked up and went all the way for them. Over a plan that was doomed to fail.

2:07 This part was the most scariest part for me, just the sheer terror of knowing that you were on your own, left to catch up to the others before becoming a meal to the undead

Kenneth and Andy’s relationship was such a fun little part of the movie. Dudes only knew each other from across the street for months and they basically became best friends without ever physically interacting.

When them zombies stopped at the stairs and kinda looked like “damn they got the blickies” 😂😂😂underrated scene

3:40 This scene is fantastic, maybe a last moment before death, the coldness of the 3 men pointing their guns at the undead, waiting for the slightest movement to start shooting. I love this movie.

This is the first zombie movie that I watched when I was a kid and probably still one of the best.

*I still can’t believe she almost got everyone killed over that dog* this clip got me in the mood to rewatch this movie though, can’t wait for Army of the Dead

for me the truck scene was the most helpless and hopeless scene in the entire world of zmovies. imagine if their truck broke in the middle of that horde? imagine.

Hands down the best zombie movie ever! You can literally see how they are trying their best to survived a zombie apocalypse. And shit the ending had me dying. I love every second of this movie.

CJ was by far the best character.

NEVER would I ever forget when my sis and I planned to go see this in theaters when she turned 18 to be able to take me, 16 at the time. Failed to learn that she actually had to be 21 to buy my ticket thus having our mother and father come in and watch it with us unexpectedly. My mother slid out her seat 3 times 😂🤣😂🤣. . First time was when the big lady turned zombie and was running fast af, the second time was when the baby "woke" up. . . that part also got me 😳😳

I remember watching this in the theaters with my dad when I was 8 years old. The scene with the old dude ripping the girl in half with the chainsaw stuck with me for a good 5 years ...

One of the best zombie movies ever. I remember seeing this in theaters and what a treat. When that big girl got up and start running at Anna, like 5 girls in a row below us screamed loud as hell! Definitely a great experience.

For me, it was the clear look of terror on the guys face and when he screamed as the zombies came around the corner. That right there hit me deep in my heart because, any one of us would have had the same gutteral reaction. Pure terror and quite rightfully so

Highly underrated movie. Someone who knows how to make a good zombie movie needs to create a continuation of this one.

The Trigger discipline on Ving Rhames character after he shoots his buddy he made friends with via the white board chess playing is outstanding. Shoots and ended the threat then placed his fingers up off the trigger.

This movie changed everything..Could never forget, being in the 5th row, high as a kite, opening weekend at the cinema...that intro..HOLY SH&*! My brother and I were already zombie fanatics, but this movie reinvigorated the passion and turned it to outright mania...this and 28 days later, of course.. you also had Land of the Dead...the video games that followed in their wake...Resident Evil Outbreak, the character Mark is based off of Ving Rhames here...Left 4 Dead...Dead Rising....Dead Island..could go on and on, what a time to be alive

Scared the sht out of me 😂 this is a fav.

Amazing how this film, in a way gave birth to Army of the Dead. It may not be a sequel, or spin-off, but still somewhat shared the zombie atmosphere to this good old '04 remake of Dawn.

Holy shit the bus scene is terrifying just image urself in a bus with a full of horde just there stuck

The chainsaw was a good idea, except for the part of accidently sawing someone in half. It would have been a better idea to mount the chainsaws to the railings of the bus instead of having them loosley inside the bus, or instead they could have just used their guns to get the zombies off

TBH, even with all them zombies, that heaviness of those vehicles, it wouldn't stop the torque/horsepower from plowing through them.

Ive seen this movie in cinema and i think this is the best zombie movie. There is one scene that is one of my fav and that is the scene that lead to the beginning of the scene above. Before that the two (the black guy and the gunshop owner) had bonded together although they are distant to each other, seeing by using binoculars and communicating using a writing board. Later that guy said to the black guy through a walky talky that he was bitten when he tried to stop the zombies entering his shop and save the dog bringing his nourishment. Then the intensity begins when the girl who owns the dog tried to get her pet back to the mall and manage to go to the gunshop. Then the black guy looks again to his binocular to find where his friend (the gunshop owner) is and saw him back to the rooftop of the shop (the place where they usually see each other) only to see him starting to manifest to become a zombie by writing something with no letters and only stroke of his own blood. So they started to tell the girl through the walky talky to get out from there without her having a clue on whats happening as the gunshop owner who is now a zombie goes from the rooftop down from where the girl is now (all from the black guys binoculat point of view). I love it because you dont actually see whats happening, Zack made it so scary and intense that you dont need to see it but hear whats happening

Zach Snyder should have taken notes of this movie when he filmed Army of the dead. Wait...

When I was a kid I'm so in with zombie games like Resident evil, first movie was great. But this one hits different. 4 years later Left for dead was the most similar when it comes to game that time. Still one of the best zombie movie for me.
