I like how different it looks. The Eshop has this identity crisis where games seem to blend in with one another. This stands out in a fun way!

This looks interesting but I’ll probably wait for a sale.. for some reason the mech combat looks a bit clunky to me which is weird since I expected them to look better in combat compared to the monsters..

I've been playing this on stadia since it's launch on March 1st and this review is spot on yet again 👍🏻 my favourite character is Tempest Galahad I find they move a bit faster which I like and they have a nice keep away attack. Keep up the great work

Loved King Kong since I was a bairn! My Mam always brings up a story when we used to go to the Zoo I used to shout “don’t worry Kong I’ll save you” would love to see a few characters like him get dropped into a DLC for that game then I would for sure pick it up.

Looks like I have something new to add to the wishlist and like with pretty much everything on it, wait for a sale. I think by the screen name that I've been using for the past 24 years that it's pretty obvious who my favorite Kaiju is and for movies it's a long list. Gojira 54 and 84, Godzilla vs. Biollante, vs Destoroyah, Against MechaGodzilla, Tokyo SOS, GMK, Shin Godzilla, Terror of MechaGodzilla, the Heisei Gamera trilogy, Gamera the Brave and I do really like the Legendary series. Between DVD and Blu-ray I pretty much have every Godzilla movie.

My five year old son LOVES Godzilla films! (anything baddie is his bag) So we have watched a lot of films a lot of times. He doesn't like the Hollywood ones though, only the originals. He sings the Mothra song to himself. One of his favourites for a long time was Godzilla versus Hedorah, which I think is a real highlight with the 70s music and the hippies response to the disaster being to have a hedonistic world's end party on mount Fuji.

I’m a massive Kaiju fan. King Ghidorah probably being my favorite classic Godzilla adversary. However MechaGodzilla in the new Gozilla v. Kong movie was kind of cool.

Technically there is only one mech. Tempest Galahad. Aegis Prime is not a mech, he's a Kyojin, a giant humanoid akin to Ultraman. I am personally loving the game so far, working to get S+ rank on all stages before moving on to the next. I really like Megadon the best both in terms of gameplay and visuals. My fiancée' is playing Ganira

I think one of the characters you thought was a giant mech is actually more like Ultraman. Kind of like a super hero alien that can grow to the size of buildings. Your criticism of them not having a little more variety in the designs is still valid, just thought I would point that out.

Just to point out, Aegis Prime isn't a Mech. He is the person who transforms into a giant. Hence why he is the fastest, he's based on the Ultraman franchise. Which Jet Jaguar that you mentioned was an homage too.

Yeah, someone else pointed that out thank you. I didn't see the Ultraman 'growing human' part and thought he was also a mech. I still just feel that he and Tempest were a bit too similar and would have liked something completely different such as a flying Kaiju. Glen

I am not sure if it's because there is alot coming out right now or the price tag but I am not in any rush to get this game and will probably wait for a sale. Oohhhh favorite Kaiju movie and monster that's a hard one I kinda want to say Godzilla final wars just because it was meant to be the final one and for 12 years it was the final one. As for Kaiju I think it's kiryu just the fact that the Japanese government brought back the bones from the original Godzilla and it used it to create a super Mecha Godzilla is such a great idea.

Megadon is Godzilla, Ganira is Gamera, Aegis Prime is an Ultraman, and Tempest Galahad is named like a Pacific Rim Jaeger. Just bought the game today, love it. I do wish there was a jump button. Even Godzilla jumped in his fighting games lol

It's a blast to play, but i agree that it should have had 3 monsters and 1 mech. Or even better imo 4 Kaiju. A giant Kong type monster would be awesome!

Not too big into the Kaiju series although I did enjoy Pacific Rim. As for beat'em ups, I am super particular with this genre and only gravitate towards titles like Scott Pilgrim and TMNT.

This looks like Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee with the gameplay of Streets of Rage and the art style of Viewtiful Joe. I'd be interested usually (bit of Kaiju fan myself) but this doesn't look finished in my opinion, plenty could be added, as you stated more playable monster variety but also a Vs mode with online and give it 4 player not 2, we deserve absolute Kaiju mayhem.

The story is told through cutscenes between levels. It mostly about the experienced pilot of the Aegis Prime mech tutoring the younger pilot. It's nothing amazing but it's there. Glen

Just like Cruise'n Blast... This game rocks on Switch but with zero attention to rumble feature. Both of these games would have created a deeper experience with HD rumble enabled! Do it. Do it... Do it.

Just keep dashing out of the way of his range when he does his attack and slow things down and learn the pattern for his lane attacks. Once you have the pattern for these two, he becomes quite easy. Glen

It feels a bit half-baked to me. They could have gone way over the top with the environments, animations, explosions, effects and crazy moves but instead it's more like they just stayed middle of the road and held back with everything. Even the character designs are a bit on the generic side. It just seems a bit too bland and safe. It's a shame.. It could have been for kaiju games what Crusin' Blast was for arcade racers: Fucking nuts.

Not having online co-op is a deal breaker, especially for the price they're asking. I'm pretty much down for any kaiju content, but this exclusion has moved the game to my wishlist to wait for a sale instead of into my cart. Very tone deaf choice in 2022.
