As funny as I think that would be I think the show needs to stay away from “defending” the super hero genre… after all Scorsese was not referring to series like The Boys when he criticized the genre. He was talking directly about the genre as a serial “product” with nothing to say… little “art” to it. There are a few gems of super hero movies that are art and I think The Boys rises to “cinema” status. I don’t think k he’s wrong to criticize much of the MCU. Compare Iron Man 1, winter Soldier, X-men 2 , Days of Future past, Logan, Deadpool and GoTG 1&2 to the rest of the MCU and it’s pretty plain to see what’s pushing there art and what is just continuing down the path of story content. Also The Dark Knight if you want to include DC. I’m sure I’m missing a few more ( and don’t get me wrong, there are some great gems in there I didn’t mention… they just don’t rise to the level of art in my opinion. It’s ok to disagree too again.. I’m not knocking other movies )

I don't think his reaction at 0:51 was in the movie script. That was probably him thinking about the possible future with Stormfront and how it'll never happen, thanks to, of all people, his own son who walked away from him. That was a genuine reaction, you can even see how he slightly drops his acting, going from scripted mad to genuine nostalgia.
