IG has always been the most fun faction to play. The fact that are numerous but die easily gives it a real war feel. It always feels like a real war with IG.

The first mission fucking shocked me when I tried it. My usual tactic as the IG is to just to create a good firing line until I can get my Baneblade, and fortify as much as possible, that was a bad move for this map. I spent about 20 minutes running around like a twat trying to find out where the second base was, constantly being attacked by like 2-3 of their tanks along the way.

I usually fortify the middle until i can get baneblades/4-5 russ tanks. Then again ultimate apocalypse makes campaign ludicrously easy at some points and estremely difficult at others (necrons building 100,000hp teleport monoliths when they have a relic, but thats usually counterable by having a couples thunderlaser tank. That and the ig get to build walls, so often when you get backed into a corner you can build walls and watch as your turrets inevitably wear the enemy push down.)

I'm surprised the Space Marines weren't more angry at the Sisters Of Battle. That's what the Space Marines were there for and the Sisters were stealing their jobs

IG infantry is actually very good but they need a lot of upgrades and addition of hero units. Late tier Kasrkin and Orgrin are epic, man.

Quetzalcoatl Ogryns are matchwinner in my opinion. They are extremely reliable against armor and Infanterie when supported by guards lasegun fire.

Spam grenade launchers, put up turrets on choke points and have commissars execute cowards equals instawin mid and late game. Know your race's strengths and weaknesses.

commissars works like a healer unit, add granades to a squad and bam bam bam those bitches, IG is strong, with solid micro its even better :)

I like the imperial guard, but I was really happy to learn in dawn of war 3 that the canon ending for soulstorm is victory for the orks. Gorgutz is the best 40k character ever!

on the first map he was right if you don't kill the AI or at least make sure they cant leave, that battle can take longer than a stronghold like my battle was 3 hour while i was the orks against IG and it took 3 hours on normal and on hard against the sisters of battle forget it

Also I've watched a few and never seen you use some keyboard shortcuts SHIFT+R goes to next available research so you can upgrade your buildings and such easily.

Замечу, что можно пройти карту быстрее, если перед ней пройти карту с Коммисаром и взять его на прохождение этой миссии. И пойти рашить не захватывая точки, и просто построить 1 генератор и потом казарму. А в раше, встать перед входа на базу в Огромную воронку для защиты, и вырезать сестёр с помощью баффа коммисара, а дальше просто не обращая внимания на турельки зайти в упор к монастырю и косить, попутно заказывая к себе по кд гвардейцев. Кстати Советую установить камера мод, если вы будите играть ещё раз или проходить, за 10 минут привыкаешь и уже не можешь отказаться, совершенно новый взгляд на игру.

+splicer1508 I think it's something like the SoB consider the IG incompetent (and the SM possible heretics) and just want to take over before the system is run over by xenos and heretics. The IG don't want to surrender so they fight....

+elwarmaquina Because turrets are more efficient here. Guardsmen without cover will die almost instantly. This province is buggy, the A.I. is playing like it's insane difficulty, not hard. I tried to finish the battle - asap. Before this record, when I've chosen other tactics, it took from 1 to 2 hours to wipe out the SoB. :)

+Mitra artiM Ah okay, I guess I didn't think about that. Still, even a few launchers bunkered in the barracks seems like it would work for good. You're right though, they are expensive to replace over time and too easy to lose.

@@mitraartim1389 It might be because of the huge number of strategic points on this map, allowing the AI to snowball. But I fully believe there is something fishy about the difficulty rating here.
