kind of accurate for necrons. since they're immortal and really old they do almost everything painfully slowly.

Also necron turrets are different from most armies, upgrading them to heavy actually makes them good against all targets, not just armored targets.

@@grimmshredsanguinus2915 this, my favorite thing to play is imperial guards, really enjoying every vehicle the is especially the basilisk, but whenever i tried playing hard i got stomp so hard and i never felt like tryharding this game, and just now starting necrons on a campaign in normal i felt like they should be pretty op even on hard mode, and the 2 bases sometimes in normal catch me offguard and sometimes i feel like 1 base is doing everything and the others dont even grad more than 2 posts.

A fun fact I recently discovered: after arrival, try to destroy the webway gates (they’ll teleport anyway) and one the area is cleansed of Eldar, proceed to the southern SP and destroy anything there. On this area you can build safely without issue (save the occasional Ranger (and later on the Fire Dragons)). Wouldn’t hurt to ensure that the area is clean and cleared to avoid surprises from Webway Gate shenanigans. The original staging area will be flooded with Aspect Warriors and vehicles. And WILL NOT move from there...

When fighting armies that are poor in combat, I often put necron warriors as assault stance because other than howling banshees, the main eldar enemies here are ranged units that you can slaughter in combat like dark reapers, warp spiders, guardian squads. Most necron units are good at either ranged or melee.

I’m currently trying to play through SoulStorm as the Necrons using Titanium Wars, but even on Normsl Difficulty, the Eldar Stronghold is a real pain in the ass for me. The waves were seemingly much more frequent, and they would swarm my base every time until my troops ran out of morale or shredded up my turrets.

My best faction to play as is the Eldar not only can do you have an unlimited amount of web-way gates you can instantly hop across the field but you can cloak them too which I thought was awesome plus they act as a mini base because they give you a place to put other buildings. Unlike most other factions where you can only put buildings within the zones they give you from the faction base or the command posts so this is why for me the Eldar are OP. Playing against NPC can be hard but they are also stupid. If you have a relic that you've captured and you've put a post on it and surrounded it with turrets and their computer says to capture it and since it can't see your cloaked units they'll just sit there and get shot and they won't leave. Except the faction leader they might try to flee. But most of the time if they don't have the detect cloaked units and buildings yet you're basically a god until that happens. I could never play the game as any other faction. As the Orks, and Necrons confuse me with their unique play style. And the Tau I know they can be over powered if you know how to play. Its just that I've never really bothered to play a real watch with them. The Chaos and Space Marines are basically two sides of the same coin although echo faction has only that faction units. The Chaos can cloak but I've never played as them so I don't know how. And the Imperial Guard ehh.. when up against a hard computer with the computer playing as the Imperial Guard and enough time passes they are too powerful. But playing as them and not knowing how to really use the units effectively you'll die every time. To me they are the weakest faction seeing as how they have the cannon fodder unit. I prefer the Eldar because its just simplistic and not that complicated. And with those warp spider units all will fall beneath my guns.

Necron Campaign... without a doubt, one - if not- the easiest faction to complete Hard difficulty with. Still, you're playing it like a pro. So I'm surprised, however, that you don't seem to use keyboard shortcuts, like "B => L" when selecting workers (that's the one for outposts) or the letter "U" when selecting turrets or outpost (uppgrading.) It makes life a little easier. Nevertheless, good job. i wish you good luck with your channel.

Sorry for the late reply (I'm new to DoW)...Just wanted to say that not everyone has full mobility in their hands (don't know if the person uploading has this issue or not) which can make using keybindings awkward. Many RTS games are popular for the reason that you can play with just 1 hand if required, with either mouse or tracker-ball, which makes them considerably more accessible for those with dissabilities. (Just food for thought, not trying to pick a fight with anyone). Also, as a new player I have to say, it can be a lot easier (if you slow the playback speed) to see exactly what someone is doing, and get a slightly better idea of where you may differ in tactics....how useful this is varies of course, but I find it a bit easier to follow myself, so yeah :)

@@Tenhys No worries. With a game this old I'd assume that most of the player base is already pretty experienced, as a newcomer I have been looking at guides etc. just to pick up on what I'm missing (which is a lot tbh)....however, a lot of the guides out there seem to be made on the assumption that most of the viewers already know pretty much everything basic. So, I do like stuff like this that I can watch closely and see if I can pick up the odd hint here and there.

@@BullDogBreed75 Then, if i may, as a player that has a decent amount of campaign experience regarding the game : do your absolute utmost to rush and secure the territory in front of the Eldars stronghold ASAP. Two reasons for that : 1) One, the Eldars are infamous in the DoW community for being downright OP (they come with a shitload of crazy bonuses other races don't have - actually gamebreaking even.) And that's even in multiplayer. 2) Second, they become nearly IMPOSSIBLE to beat on that map when they get around 8+ level and it's litteraly the only access to their stronghold (because everything above 5 means you're gonna fight two A.I.s instead of one and the map, being ridiculously big, their bases being developped and you starting at potentially nothing, means it's gonna be a grindfest that'll potentially culminate with you facing two avatars of Khaine AT ONCE. Let me tell you, that's ABSOLUTELY NO FUN AT ALL.) My personnal advice : aim for the territories giving global bonuses, first. If possible, try to always go for either _"Pavonis Spaceport"_ or _"Fury"_ as your absolute priorities : the first gives you the ability to strike ANY territory on the map (minus strongholds) and thus by passing the stuff you don't want to face, while the second grants you the ability to move AND attack twice in a single turn (drastically speeding the campaign progression while slowing the A.I.'s defensive progress.) And once you've got both, aim for the _"Refineries"_ in the corner right below the Space Marine's stronghold : it grants you a flat +1.000 requisition at the start of all of your battle (a _significant_ economical boost.) After gaining those three, the campaign will become a lot, LOT simplier to deal with. Finally, here's the most crucial advice : *Try to beat down and contain the A.I. during battle BUT DO NOT DESTROY IT.* Instead, take your time to boost your defences on the map ; construct additionnal HQs, set up turrets and mines at chokepoints, build up additionnal recruitment centers, plasma generators, research buildings and uppgrade your frontposts to maximum tiers. Do NOT hesitate to build additionnal base right next to the A.I.s spawning position (but not right onto because the game will delete them.) Why ? Because the game will carry on remembering your base layout in case of future attacks. Which makes a MASSIVE difference, as it drastically reduce the time you need to build up your own armies, economy and setting researches each time you fight a new battle on them (and some commander's gear requires to win defensive battles so... might as well make it easier.) That'd be all at the top of my mind.

The more monoliths you have the more generators you can place down. It also allows. You to produce more units at the same time. If you have an energy core and one of your awakened monoliths goes down you can instantly make another one without having to repair the one that got defeated already
