@@garfreeekThat's what I dont understand. They loved Jimbo for her weird quirkiness and comedy, and they loved willow pill, but they didn't like Dawn or even appreciate her aesthetic. Her makeup skills are one of the best on her season, and one of the best I've ever seen in general. She has ideas that are out there and wacky (which is literally drag at its finest. It's supposed to be exaggerated). It just doesn't make sense how they loved Jimbo but don't care for dawn. Jimbo couldn't even lipsync for her life. Dawn lipsync better and never got a chance to properly even show her lipsync abilities because she was assassinated by production.

@@raurisaurus5057 to be honest, i think they pick and choose for sure. i think drag race is more produced than we know or joke about -- the top four are chosen very early on or at least premeditated by the producers. i think dawn would've shined in another season, but i don't think the producers were gunning for her to make it top 4 or 3 so rupaul wasn't living for her quirky drag. i also don't think dawn had much nerve to make daring choices in the competition whereas jimbo and willow would to get the crown..

I will die on this hill, Dawn did well for being tied up in her outfit. I dont agree that she didnt deliver a servicable lip sync. Yes Morphine ate her but Morphine wouldve ate anyone on that season and Dawns performance was still enjoyable.

They let them know all the lip sync song list prior to drag race. Then at the beginning of the week they tell them which song… so by the time the they filmed the runway and critics they have been knowing the song. One of the few times production changed the song was when it was Jinx vs Detox. That’s why detox and Roxxxy were so pissed cause production heard jinx sing that song through her season so they switched the song to Malambo No. 5 to favor her. Iconic it was quite a scandal, it was in the magazines at the time

@@lisalarsen2384 willow has a stronger focus on being odd, she's yvie's drag daughter / sister (idk which one) for a reason. Dawn has a more fantasy aesthetic, with the elf ears and all. She's definitely polished and looks very good icl. Their styles are different so it's not really a good comparison. I don't see why people make the comparison to begin with.

yeah but it’s kinda apples and oranges. anaconda’s a campy song to begin with so it could be done more seriously to be fierce or more comedically to bring up the camp and still works well both ways like we saw with dela and aja. with body, doing it the funny way just doesn’t work that well compared to doing it the serious way

That was a ritualistic sacrifice if I’ve ever seen one on drag race..that was it. The producers knew exactly what they were doing. There was no chance “In helllll ennhh 😜” that Dawn was winning that unless Morphine passed out or broke a leg. I really enjoyed Dawn but the way everyone was talking about her prior to the season really starting I was expecting Crystal Method, Violet, Kim Chi level of looks orrr on the other side of things Adore, Bianca, Alaska, Katya levels of charisma…or just Violet, Kandy, and PhiPhi levels of messiness. But I’m glad that she hung around to showcase her style though I don’t quite feel like she really truly had that one stand out moment because someone else was always there to outshine her sadly. But I think give Dawn some money and bring her back with knowledge of reality Tv and I think she will slay it. Honestly that is probably the best case scenario for most of these queens. Winning your first time on the show is great and all but you don’t get that chance to get some new fans and remind people you exist a few years down the line.
