Whoa
Tie a yellow ribbon 'round the ole oak tree
It's been three long years
Do ya still want me (still want me)
If I don't see a ribbon 'round the ole oak tree
I'll stay on the bus
Forget about us
Put the blame on me
If I don't see a yellow ribbon 'round the ole oak tree

This was the biggest hit of 1973 and one of the biggest of all time. (In 2018, Billboard ranked it the 46th biggest hit ever.) The instrumentation was retro upon its release, and within ten years, the track sounded corny and dated, an item of ironic nostalgia. Yet, 50 years later, there's no denying this unforgettable ditty's sweet charm.

This was my mother's favourite song. I lost her at 13 but I will never forget the memories made with her. I miss listening to the songs she loved and watching the films she adored (Grease in particular). But most of all I miss her mere presence and hearing her voice. I'm 23 now but will never ever let a day pass by where I don't have her in my thoughts. Love you mum

You will live forever. There is no peace. We just have to hope we don’t come back as a prey animal always on the lookout for that creature that is going to eat us 🤣 I believe in reincarnation but it has nothing to do with a soul jumping out and entering a new body. I just think something comes alive and experiences that life like you are yours at the moment. You was nothing before but you was if you can get your head around that. Like I said there is no peace and something will get born somewhere in the universe and will live. Think about it as it is a mind bender.

(still want me) If I don't see a ribbon 'round the ole oak tree I'll stay on the bus, forget about us, put the blame on me If I don't see a yellow ribbon 'round the ole oak tree Bus driver, please look for me 'Cause I couldn't bear to see what I might see I'm really still in prison and my love, she holds the key A simple yellow ribbon's what I need to set me free I wrote and told her please Whoa, tie a yellow ribbon 'round the ole oak tree It's been three long years, do you still want me? (still want me) If I don't see a ribbon 'round the ole oak tree I'll stay on the bus, forget about us, put the blame on me If I don't see a yellow ribbon 'round the ole oak tree Now the whole damn bus is cheerin' and I can't believe I see A hundred yellow ribbons 'round the ole oak tree I'm comin' home, umm-hmm (Tie a ribbon 'round the ole oak tree) (Tie a ribbon 'round the ole oak tree) (Tie a ribbon 'round the ole oak tree) (Tie a ribbon 'round the ole oak tree) (Tie a ribbon 'round the ole oak tree) (Tie a ribbon 'round the ole oak tree) (Tie a ribbon 'round the ole oak tree) (Tie a ribbon 'round the ole oak tree)

Yesterday afternoon I was cleaning out weeds from our Blue Spruce Tree, and I had stopped to catch my breath. As I raised my head I saw the remnants of a yellow ribbon on a branch of that tree. It was the only ribbon I could still find on the tree from 2011 when our son was deployed to Afghanistan. I couldn't say how many ribbons we put on that tree, but as I pulled on it, it tore and landed in my hand. As I looked at it, I cried because I remembered how scared I was until he finally had "boots on the ground" in 2012. I had forgotten that song until it just popped into my head all these years later. I looked it up and it was released in 1973 by Tony Orlando and Dawn. I was 14, and it got a lot of air time on the school bus radio. I never dreamed it would be a song that had so much meaning to me all those years later.

One of those greats of the seventies of last Century. The lyrics are nice and simple and believable. Still nice to hear and enjoy, as the voices and instruments are nicely matched and combined.

he isnt coming home... AMC cannot do that, because the set in which they portray as alexandria doesnt exist anymore. also, even if they could recreate it, they cannot get all the actors back for just one epsiode. it will cost too much money and time. he isnt coming back home, AMC wouldn't do that. think, they only actors we've seen from before is rick, michonne and jadis, in the ones who live. also michonne said in episode 5 that "we cant go home". Accept that this isn't the walking dead, its the ones who live. a romantic.

Every time I listen to all the good Classics like this one and knock three times on the ceiling if you want me and all those other classics reminds me of my mother that passed away 20/20.
