Last night we took our first aerial view of the dharma teachings and the influential stories that have sculpted our daily practices. Nathaniel introduced us to the three teachers; Jigme Gyelwe Nyugu, Gyelse Shenpen Taye, and Khenpo Shenga, recounting their stories and how their teachings fold into each other as well as the influences that they have over our current practices. Harvey brought us back to today, how to be open to these stories as guidelines to our practice despite being in a very different time/ place- “we are not going to encounter horse thieves in the middle of rural Tibet here.”
