I must say, seeing Preach and Jesse be so hyped up for Dawntrail is infectious. Like if those two could jump up and down and scream how excited they were, they look like they would do it. It definitely helped that they bonded over the previous Final Fantasy games before going into the Dawntrail trailer talk.

Having completed DT, it's interesting hearing the speculations and how right (or hillariously wrong) they are.

idk why I can't stop imagining Garrett and Kyle G'Posing but wearing those Hawaiian shirts in game and all the devs and stuff just crowding their PCs. and I can't stop laughing about it.

A theory I have had since we learned we can time travel as canon (and a bit before but I really started cooking with it then) is that we go back in time and help Louisoix defeat Bahamut and become a primal. Because he didn't temper anyone and we know that summoning a primal doesn't have to temper people, as of EW, so we can help out with that, but of course we don't remember that we did any of that because we lost our memory like everyone else. So we are the Warrior of Light that people remember (and I know that those are a callback to the 1.0 players too, but if can still make sense for the game). I know there are probably holes in this theory, but I like it and when I heard Mage talk about time travel shenanigans I remembered this again 😃😆

I realize I might be in the minority on this one but in general I am fine with main characters not being killed. I find that often times character deaths are a crutch writers will use to get an easy reaction from the audience. If a team of writers are really creative there are so many other forms of trauma that can be deeply emotional and effective. For example, with Thrancred not dying in ShB he instead get's to come to terms with his guilt over Minfilia and realizes what he should have been doing all along was helping Ryne forge her own path. Could that have been accomplished with his death there? Possibly. But I then we would miss out on his character growth after that which I find way more interesting.

On killing the twins I talked to my gf about it and she said something that I really agree with. She pointed out that the most interesting character development would be to kill Alphie to see how Ali grows from that, but they wont kill him (I'm pretty sure he is Yoshi-Ps fav and also the protagonist if it wasn't the WoL) and it wouldn't be as interesting to see Alphie without Ali since we did already see that in HW (even if sure she wasn't dead but he has had character development without her there and even if you can argue Ali had some in SB and in the patches after SB it was not really the same since it was usually in the context of "we are doing this with scions" not "oh we don't even know if there are any scions left but us"). Also honestly I don't want to "lose" their VAs now with Colin streaming and many of the VAs joining him on the stream 😅

I would love if solution 9 was a mix of both shards and the digital would idea. I think that right before the 12th, the lightning aspected shard, the shard that was rejoined during the 2nd calamity, was rejoined, the maiden created a digitalscape on a digital ark. You can of course enter this digitalscape through the door. She could only save so many people, however in order to save as many people as possible, solution 9 was created. When you enter solution 9, your souls digitize with the main reason being to avoid you from being rejoined with your source counterpart. So when the 2nd rejoining was about to occur, the maiden rallied as many people as possible and got them into solution 9, and ferried those now digital souls to the source, with solution 9 being an ark.

Coming back to this after completing DT and woow. My decision to not watch Launch Trailers continues to be affirmed but now I get to come back for the THEORIES ❤

Havent seen Sailor Moon nor do I know which ones, the oldest or newer ones that are being compared to Endwalker, but I have seen Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and from the spaceship flight up to defeating Endsinger is straight out of the final episodes of TTGL

My tinfoil hat theory.... Venat made a comment about stepping down as Azem for our WoL Azem version, because we were better suited to the role. What if instead of just being a traveler of geography, we are a master of time travel. Maybe this is the point in time where we learn how to time travel at will. My ultimate theory is that we live out our days as the WoL, then travel back to Amarout and become the Azem that Vanat steps down for. What I would LOVE to see (because I am not done with the ancients/ascians) is that for the next few expacs we meet, help and befriend the remaining ascians. Maybe we get ahold of those memory crystals of the 14 that we left with Elidibus. THEN the next big bad comes (maybe things begin to unravel after Zodiark and Hydalyn are gone), and we need to reunify the original Convocation of 14 to help us fix the problem. Instead of fighting them, we have to figure out how to unite them in time and space to figure things out. Last crazy theory that has been bugging me for awhile. When the Final Days occurred in our time, everyone said they heard a noise UNDER the earth, then things started falling apart. I don't think that was Meition's doing,. I think whatever made that sound changed the aether so she COULD do her worst. What if that is some crazy Labraha invention that claws its way out of the earth (leaving gouge marks on mountains in Tural?), and that's what we need the Convocation of 14 to help us fight in 8-10 years time. OK, I need to go freshen up my tinfoil hat. It's kind of dented now.

Wait a minute. Is the reason Brandihild looks the way he does is a foreshadowing to what Jesse said about his theory for the Golden Gate/Solution 9? If Brandihild was foreshadowing that, these devs are actually insane in the best way possible.

The digital preservation and facade theory matches with the plot of FF9 (which this expansion is heavily inspired from) which was all about an elder race preserving themselves in an ark and manipulating the people to kill themselves so they can all be revived and take the world.

I do think we might get a lore distinction between ascians and surviving people of ethrys. Cause we see even though he isn't the best example, fandanial doesnt like the ascians goal. What's stopping a more stable minded one from saying emets plan is wacko and doing thier own thing.
