@yolk batter Some of that i think was Charisma and Charm,but some was the way he seemed to treat people and talk to them and the way he behaved in general with everyone,like,really including them and really paying attention to them. I know this was an interview and all but i've seen another things of him and he always behaves like that towards people. With maturity and kindness but also humor. And he ends up making people feel comfortable and good around him.There is nothing sexier and more attractive than a man(a person in general) who acts like that.

I agree. Even though Kerr is probably the most conventionally attractive of the three, there is something about Joshua Jackson. He had my attention the entire interview.

Yes! So true. When they were talking about living together... awkward! And when Josh cleaned up Katie's lip you could feel the tension there.

All that happened in season 1 so by this time they had all moved on , I have only heard that Josh and Katie dated for a year in season 1. I have only ever heard that either James had a crush on her for a little bit or they went on 1 date or something but didn't actually date. Katie and Josh have only ever confirmed that they dated each other nothing about James and her.

@@alondraa.3522 There is a video. An old video that says that. It says that they didn't really like each other and that was a thing that almost ended Dawson's Creek. It had to do with them and Josh and Katie's relationship early in the show. It's a whole drama but it seemed like by the end of the show they started to have a normal relationship. Josh and James i mean. But i heard that they were never really friends.

James has a good heart and he's a very serious actor (minor talent but my God does he give it his all, it's actually really impressive to watch regardless of the result) but I think Joshua's natural brilliance both in acting and in real life sort of threatened James, especially at that age. Joshua is super charming and James probably felt like he couldn't compete with him, which was perfect for Pacey and Dawson. Life imitates art.

People needing attention all the time are not my favourite people too and I do not think i have seen many episodes of the show as I preferred shows like Roswell, Buffy and more about fantasy and sci-fi.

But he is charismatic so deserves the attention. James IRL seems as boring as Dawson

I don’t think it’s about needing attention. They’re just two different personality types. James seems more quiet and thoughtful and Josh seems gregarious and outspoken. I can see why they’d clash, but ironically, they’re exactly like their characters that way.

Though he clearly is gregarious and outspoken, I don’t think he’s the type that *needs* attention. Whenever someone else speaks, he shuts up, locks in on them, and listens to what they have to say. I can’t stand people who *need* attention, they are quickly exhausting.

They’re filming a Season 3 episode here so no, but they were (allegedly) still hooking up on and off in Season 3 and throughout the rest of filming. By all accounts they were very close.

I think he was just joking here but sometimes jokes are half-truths. Busy said he was unhappy during her time there (seasons 5 & 6) and mentioned something about how lucky she was that her previous show got cancelled. She was shocked because she said you’re lucky to even have a job as an actor.

I think it was the thanksgiving episode in season 3 (S3E8)

Complete BS that she never felt fully included. She herself said that she was shy and not too social and started opening up when she was 21(so during season 5). On top of that she mentioned talking a lot with James, especially on set and hanging out with Josh. You can even see her here holding her hands with Katie Holmes throughout the interview and she said multiple times how kind she was to everyone, including her.

Wrong. Joshua and Katie were together for more than a year before they broke up because they weren't the ones for each other, that simple. Twenty years later at their reunion their bond and respect for each other couldn't be more clear. They were kids. They were in love and it didn't work out. Nothing happened. If anyone was looking to play price charming with Katie it's James. No wonder she rejected him multiple times.

Not everyone is full of joy, and excitement all the time!! Get over it. Plus, you don't know him well. Some people sound shy when they first meet people and when they are with the ones they know they act comfortable, silly and all...

That’s called being a good actor. As a actor myself, I’ve learned if somebody pisses you off on TV or they’re acting some type away. That means they’re doing their job especially with villains if you really hate watching them that’s because they’re doing their job.

Yea.. and plus tells that dog is cleaner than Josh. I mean , it didn't even seem like a joke or a tease. They clearly didn't get along, but to say this in the interview publicly, makes him quite bitter, insecure and not nice person in general. Je whether jokes or comments negatively. Pretty upsetting. Josh on the other hand wears his heart on sleeves, compliments, jokes around but in easy going, teasing way. Funny how the actor's personality affects my perception of the character (which is wrong haha) . Now I like Dawson character so much less lol

@@lilyoshea2018 no, the actors who played Dawson and Pacey didn't get on and all the cast spoke about how working there was like a factory job and they hated it because of how much tension there was on set

This was shot around episode 3x08 based on the costumes, and right after this the show was shut down temporarily because Josh Jackson and Michelle Williams reportedly went to the network with concerns over an upcoming storyline involving their characters, and the showrunner (a new showrunner who'd come in at the start of season 3) was fired. The show went on hiatus for two weeks while Greg Berlanti took over as showrunner and the season storylines were revamped. The second half of season 3 is much superior to the first, starting from the episode right after this one. So there was some real issues behind the scenes at the time. Also there were quite obviously tensions amongst some cast members - notoriously Josh and James van der Beek did not get along at all, which is obvious when you watch this interview. Katie and James seem awkward together too, I read somewhere that he used to correct her line delivery and pronunciation during filming which upset her, and he makes fun of her in their joint interview in a way she doesn't seem super comfortable with. But I could be projecting. And some of those questions are pretty personal and I felt like Donny overstepped some boundaries especially when insisting on hugging Michelle when she clearly didn't want him to. I wouldn't put it all onto the cast, the dynamics were clearly off between cast and interviewers.

@@joeypotter6051 I didn't say it was the cast but a couple of them barely answered and that's understandable when interviewing people this young. It left D&M trying extra hard to make this interesting. Some of the kids were fun though :)

You're an ignorant dummy. Season 2 is the best season of the whole show and the best season of any teen drama ever. Kevin Williamson was there all throughout season 2 and he left between season 2 and 3. Season 3 was great despite the fact he left and season 4 was even better as that's when they truly went back to the spirit of the show from season 1 and 2. Season 5 is ok and season 6 is the only season that doesn't feel like Dawson's Creek at all. Still objectively the best teen drama ever written.

Disagree season 3 and 4 were the best. Loved Pacey and Joey.

Kevin Williamson left AFTER season 2

Up until season 4 it was pretty good. It wouldn't have been cancelled but it would have been reduced to 12 episodes and since teens today are not very patient and have the attention span of a gold fish they'd have to fast forward through so much of the up and downs of the relationships. In that sense it wouldn't be a success. This show was very popular for the first 4 years it aired.

I would not say that Season 2 was a trainwreck but I agree with you that season 1 was by a mile the best one. I think season 3 except the very latest episodes, with the triangle situatione, was absolutely abysmal, season 4 was decent, season 5 and 6 were absolutely terrible. They should have end the series in season 4.
