This theme song is so nostalgic!! Every 90s kid remembers it. I literally just started watching Dawson's Creek for the first time because I remember how iconic it was I'm 4 episodes in and it just brings me back to how late 90s life was as a kid and as a teen. No cell phones no social media. Just friends and getting out the house enjoying each other's company. Also Katie Holmes was/is so pretty 😍😍

This was the original teen drama that most kids could actually relate to. I know 90210 was much earlier, but most kids aren't struggling to fit in with the rich kids of Beverly Hills. This show was the blueprint that proved to the television execs that kids/teens/young adults will watch shows that are basically set where they live and are about their lives, they don't have to be about a life or a setting they don't live, nor does it have to feel like a sitcom. You can say the writing hasn't aged well (what show dialogue from the 90's has) but you can't deny this was the first truly relatable drama for younger people - and the first one that didn't portray them as stupid, incapable of thinking and only listening to their hormones. It actually complimented their intelligence and perception. And the heart that it has doesn't go out of style no matter what decade we're in. It's not perfect, and yes season 5 and the first 1/3 or so of season 6, the writing sucked. But those flaws are precisely why it's so d*mn perfect.

There are many drama shows from the 90's that I couldnt get into because I was still a kid. This was one of them, HOWEVER, this song as stuck with me since... forever.

this is where wokeness spread out. Parents with open relationships? It's normal. Teenagers with access to each other's room? It's normal. Teachers having affair with minor student? It's normal. The gay character inclusion? It's there. The drug addict? It's there.

K orra That's also bullshit. Kids are the same now as they have been since the beginning of time. No matter if you try to blame society's problems on television, rock music, rap, texting, or any of that other dumb shit old people (or young people trying to be "mature") say to circle jerk themselves about how different life was when they were young. Kids/teens are doing the same shit now that they've always done. The fact that social media provides a larger window to the world for everyone else to see this behavior is incidental.
@ldbboosha9 жыл бұрын
K orra If you get my point then you should also grasp that no one's personal experience/behavior is the measure of their entire generation. There are tons of kids currently who DON'T do reprehensible things online, the same way you would never do. There have always been those types of kids along side the raucous ones. And adults, for that matter,

Skipped around to see if maybe it was just the first season but nope, I Don't Want To Wait is nowhere to be found. This theme song IS Dawson's Creek, hearing it takes me back to being a kid again watching this damn show. Sigh. Edited to add that I just watched the last episode of the whole show and it has the correct song! Was happy and surprised to hear it come on because I kept skipping forward when the other horrible song would start for all the other episodes I watched.

That song never played as far as I know. It appears that Netflix has a licensing issues with the singer/songwriter of the original song (I don't want to wait), so they had to strip the song out of almost all the episodes and replace it with the song they have there. It just did not feel right hearing that before a Dawson's Creek episode.
