Sorta kinda. In these talk shows they meet beforehand to figure out what they'll talk about, and which questions and stories are going to come up. The specific language he uses probably isn't scripted, but this stuff isn't off the cuff.

100% agree I love how they talk about their ups and downs they don't sugar coat. There a fantastic example of a healthy couple. If people watched them they would learn a lot, it would've taught me how a man who loves/respects his wife treats her. They talk about going to couples counseling and learning things about themselves and each other. They also learned tools for healthy communication and compromise.When I got engaged in 2007 I should have buckled down, made my grandparents happy and chose to get married in a Catholic church. He would have been happy to do it too because it would've made my grandparents happy. If I got married in the church after the premarital counseling who knows what we may have learned we might still be married. On the other hand after weeks of pre marital counseling I might have actually learned who he really is instead of the act he put on, we might have never actually got married in the first place. This just popped into my head What if I did want to get married in the church but didn't because of the pre marital counseling. What if deep down I knew that something was off but lied to myself because I wanted my happy ending with my prince charming. He was literally like prince charming, it was to good to be true I should have realised then. A year after we got married things changed. I learned he had lied to me about his life, his degree it didnt exist etc.That was just the beginning. I should've left then but at 24 I was way to naieve and I wanted my happy ending so I didn't leave. Almost a decade later I finally left and slowly I started to try to heal every aspect of myself. I weighed only 95 pounds due to severe depression and anxiety. Also add in that 2 years prior I was diagnosed not with a mild case but with a very advanced and Severe case of a one of the five most painful chronic pain /autoimmune diseases, Interstitial cystits. Emotional, psychological abuse along with malevelonce I believe is hell on earth it is life shattering and traumatic.

If one cannot abide by the most basic conditions of the institution, one should not get married. that's why adultery is grounds for divorce. Despite what people claim they are "cool"with, we are hard wired with the important emotion of jealousy to assure the the all important pair bond. This causes problems in a large proportion of open marriages. We get into trouble when we go against our genetic makeup.

Yeah, and most of them are "wet" gloves so you still get prune fingers.

@@frolickinglions your skin will prune regardless of whether or not you are wearing gloves as long as there is water contact. the exception being some sort of dry suit, but that doesn't cover your hands (usually). so it mainly we wear those gloves so as to not get our hands ripped to shreds on coral, and to provide a layer of protection from fish that have "poison" coated spikes like a lionfish or stonefish. with regards to his wife, she wears it because she doesn't like the pruned fingers touching skin as it says in the description.
