Hey everyone, Welcome back.
This is going to be a few part series, this is day 1 of building a flemish bond extension. I enjoyed doing flemish bond... its a bit slow going though, you feel like you're getting nowhere fast.
We didn't flemish bond the plinth because the customers wanted it to match the existing extension as much as possible.
Hope you enjoy the video, if you have any comments please pop them in below. Don't forget to subscribe if you want to see more.
Thanks for watching :)

good to see bond set out from new corners back to building, any discrepency can be adjusted with broken bond against the building.

Them jigs are alright but quicker , faster and cleaner with a drop saw, please wear a mask.Bwk looks great but 4 and 1 mix with white cement is a very strong mix and it looked like two lots of 100mm DPC not one 225mm as it should be. 👍

No chance a strong mix 4-1 Whig white cement buddy. White is generally weaker than the ordinary grey stuff

@@bricklayersworldwithandy6277 Not for me buddy. Every time through the years in Scotland always white render that had been blowing out 90% when people used white sand cement. Any time cleaned of bricks also peels off no problems same as when dye is added to cement comes easily.

Nice to see corners being built properly and not using profiles, by the time you've set profiles up the corner is half way up. In my experience profiles are for bricklayers who can't build proper corners.

@@bonanzatime we go to work to make money, if you want to test your skills build an arch, what’s the point of building a corner just to feel satisfaction of being an old school Bricky, it takes about a minute to pop two clamps into the perp and plumb up the profile

@@p.maesthetics7154 Most profiles I had to work with were all twisted and bent. I don't like the damn things. I'm fast with the level and my eye and can leads fast enough for anybody running in the line.

I thought that with the plinth bricks too, but then saw that they were matching what was done on the original house, it would bug the hell out of me though.
