Currently 10 alarms for daily tasks like taking dogs out, remembering to make coffee, etc. Just picked up my meds (wellbutrin and Vyvanse) and took both a few hours ago so I could try it out without being at work. I'm about 3 hours in and my brain is already starting to clear and my memory feels like it's coming back - I suddenly remembered quite a few work and personal thing I needed to do today but had _completely_ forgotten. Edit: I usually have to edit comments due to spelling errors, missing words, wrong words... Just re-read my post and there's _nothing_. Hope this train continues.

It will take a week or so for your body to adjust to it. My other problem was everything thing gets super bright and intense for me. I was on Ritalin before and I didn’t release how Angry I was on it . Because I would be on a high then crash low and was super mad when I crashed. Vyvanse is nice because u won’t feel that “high”

Always interesting to hear other's experiences. I was on adderall xr 30mg which worked but made me feel like I couldn't sit still sometimes. So I also just started 30mg vyvanse. First time I've been on meds in over 20 years. Feels like ups and downs sometimes.

Sometimes that can mean you need an up in the dosage. I was at 30mg and I was experiencing mostly downs. Was switched up to 60mg and I feel much better. The reaction to the medication dosages depend on your body composition. Age, height, weight, etc. Thats what I’ve leaning so far.

@tryssulli glad you found a dose that works for you. I'm not sure if body composition really matters, I'm only 4ft11in and less than 100 lbs, and my adhd symptoms are currently handled best at 50mg vyvanse plus 10mg afternoon adderall.?

I get “the chatter” too lol been taking 40 mg Vyvanse on and off since January. I’m like narrating my thoughts to myself. Vyvanse also makes me RAVENOUS.. I’m starving all day long.. however I have control over my eating. So I will eat enough to satiate the hunger at that time and then put it down. Off meds, not so much control.

I was so hungry on 30mg and couldn't satisfy it. I'm on 40mg now. It doesn't kill my appetite completely, but I do have to remind myself to eat sometimes.

I started on this dose in April for a month and 40 mg for another and did 50 mg for 2 weeks, am on 60 mg for a couple weeks and then 70 mg next appointment. I also take 300 mg of Wellbutrin XL for ADHD and that helps me take a lower dosage. I took Adderall, Dexedrine, Focalin and Concerta in the past. My regular doctor will only give me this or Concerta when I'm between psych docs, so, I asked for this. Dexedrine is my favorite medication out of all of them though.

30 mg is Meh 40s a little better but both have me crashing after about a few hours. If I take it around 6 it’s going to wear off around 12. Not too great if you want to be productive the rest of the day. Not sure if I need a booster kind of scared to up the dose. It works for the first few hours but after that I don’t really want to do anything…

Just be careful, tolerance builds and you have to increase dosages if you're on it multiple times a week and when it stops working and you have no chemical help, ADHD/focus problems will get worse. All amphetamines can be neurotoxic in the long term and in high dosages, amphetamines downregulates your normal dopamime receptors, this can in the long term cause anhedonia, diminished drive, depression, tardive dyskinesia and certain psychotic disorders and in bad cases also brain damage, the effects of amphetamines on the brain is well studied. Just be careful, everything has pros and cons.

Im wondering if i could split my dose and take 15 at 5 and 15 at 12.
@EnjoyingLifesJourney
@EnjoyingLifesJourney Жыл бұрын
Usually Vyvanse comes in a capsule, so it is not easy to split. However, some dose amounts do come in chewables, so...? Honestly though, I've been taking 40mg at 5:30am-6:00am and it last all day. It's so much easier than taking it multiple times. You just need the right dose.

You could be tired for many reasons: you didn't eat enough, it's too low of a dose, it's too high of a dose. I'm not sure where you're at in your journey as far as other medications and learning about your adhd symptoms. For me, it took a good 6 months to fully understand what I needed help with and to tell what works best. With that, take lots of notes and talk to your Dr weekly at the beginning. I also tried to take my meds at the same time daily and eat the same thing around the same time daily. Don't be afraid to change dose amounts or medications based on your dr recommendations. You can always go back to what works best for you. Wishing you the best!

I was recently put on 30mg of Vyvanse. It makes me very tired which isn’t a good thing because I struggle with hypothyroidism so that already causes me fatigue sometimes, I also wasn’t really motivated, and sometimes I noticed my emotions would become irregulated. I would find myself getting stuck in negative thoughts and whatnot. I maybe noticed a slight increase in focus but it doesn't last long. I don't mind that it controls my eating habits, I've struggled with my weight for a long time now and I don't mind if it helps me lose weight. I don't have a very healthy relationship with food. I'm thinking about asking my psychiatrist for a boost in the dosage, I read online that it's possible if the dose is too low for the individual then it's possible that these side effects are not uncommon to experience, where as it becomes also possible that the desired therapeutic effects won't happen compared to taking a higher dosage where the desired therapeutic effects become more likely to be achieved and possibility of experiencing negative side effects decline. However, each individual is different, but personally I feel like this is my case. I've had ADHD since I was 7, quit taking medication when I was 14. I just now decided to get back on something to help get my life back in order I guess you could say so Vyvanse is new to me. I educate myself about the medication more everyday online to develop a better understanding about it because I have high hopes. I don’t like the idea of bouncing around from medication to different medication. I plan on making an early appointment with my psychiatric to talk about what’s been going on with the medication and running the idea of getting an increase in dosage by them. I’ve read online that sometimes people go from 30mg to 60mg. Not saying that’s what I want, I just want something that works. I hope you find a balance that works for you!

Thank you for sharing! I actually tried 60mg was good for a week, then to high. I'm at 40mg now and it's working perfectly. I'm so happy my Dr pushed me to switch from adderall. Talk to your Dr often until you get settled! Good luck!

@@EnjoyingLifesJourney My psychiatric actually just changed me up to 60mg of Vyvanse. They were using 30mg as a trial run to see how I would react to it. She said considering my age, height, weight, and whatnot, 60mg is more typical to be prescribed, but if I need to be adjusted it can be done. I feel great since I’ve been on 60mg. I don’t take it everyday though, maybe 2 to 3 times a week due to it being so expensive and my insurance hassles me every time I get a prescription for it in at the pharmacy, and I’m also trying to keep my tolerance to it low so it stays extremely effective every time I take it because I can only get it increased one more time if I happen to need it - which is 70mg, and that’s the maximum dosage that can be prescribed. I don’t like the idea of jumping from one medication to another. 😬
