River references this minisode during 'The Husbands of River Song' when she mentions the time there was two of the Doctor, and how he kept trying to take her on a date to the singing towers of Darillium, but always changed his mind.

From "The Husbands of River Song", River: "Well, that would explain why you kept cancelling coming here. Do you remember that time when there were two of you?"

Best line: "RORY, SHE'S HAVING AN EMOTION!"

RIVER: Hang on a minute. I recognise that planet. DOCTOR: Well, that's nice. Maybe they'll name the crater after us. RIVER: That's Darillium! DOCTOR: Always good to know where we're going. Could you concentrate on your work, please? RIVER: You know, the Singing Towers. DOCTOR: Yes, I'll be sure to give them a wave as we zoom past. RIVER: You always say you're going to take me there for dinner and then you always cancel at the last minute. DOCTOR: I'd quite like to cancel this time too, if at all possible.

Judging by the doctors clothes this takes place right after Rory and Amy’s wedding ......and shortly after river was conceived

These shorts are some of my favorite doctor who content. They are nostalgic, fairytale- esque, and they hold such meaning. There’s just something magical about these particular shorts.

The more times i rewatch the eleventh doctor the more he's my favourite doctor.

I love that River keeps calling the Doctor a nostalgic idiot for coming back to that location, but she also keeps ending up there during that exact moment, so she also feels sentimental about that place and that date. They're just so cute.

When these were released on the Series 6 DVD/Blu-ray set, I was thinking, "this is what I wanted to see more of in Series 6. More heartfelt character moments." Which I felt Series 6 lacked at times due to the heavy Silence/River Song story arc that got in the way, but that's just me thinking that.

Ahh you're so adorable! Unless you're actually surrounded by Silence, in which case you're actually in quite a lot of danger. Erm. Basically...run!

Good night is one of my favourite ever things that Moffat wrote and it's one of the reasons that the friendship between Eleven and Amy mean so much to me.

Subconsciously noticed the marks at 6 minutes and gradually started to notice it more. Only fully noticed it by the end of the videos.

Because I expect you to find a way around this".... The Doctor interupts saying, "Not all things can be avoided". Anyway... her 'two of you' remark was from this clip.

I was so disappointed that Moffat wasted Darillium on these DVD-only minisodes. It was such a missed opportunity for some incredible emontions! Then of course Husbands eventually rolled around and it was perfect.

Yeah, these ones were lovely. Funny but heartfelt too. And easy to forget that there was a time when some thought this was all we were getting for the end of River's journey. Personally I never bought that though, I figured we had to at least see him give her the sonic and sure enough, in "The Husbands of River Song", the Moff provides ;).

I love the participation of the Silence in this reaction, even if they are never on screen. I hope you have in the schedule reacting to 11th's deleted scenes.

When this originally aired I was crushed by the Derilium comment and thought that was the last we'd see of River. During The Husbands of River Song she says when they finally are there "Remember that time when there was two of you?" Referencing this and also saying in her way "Remember that time when you thought this was my end? This is like that time too, right?" It's a line you can easily miss but if you've seen this minisode you understand that she's in the stages of denial trying to beg and barter with him. There was something else I wanted to say. About those marks I think. I feel like it was really important but I can't remember what it was. Weird thing is I have them too. Wonder where they came from? *shrugs*
