Fr. Mike introduces us to the Book of Proverbs, while reflecting on the lack of devotion Israel has shown towards God and the Book of the Law. Much like God gave the Book of the Law to Israel, he's given the Bible to us to continue following him faithfully. Today's readings are 2 Kings 22, 2 Chronicles 33, and Proverbs 7.

Thank you Father Mike for your words yesterday.(day 187) I was recently healed of cancer . The doctor said that it was a miracle. I asked for healing , but I was ready to go if He called me. I do want to be a holier person and draw closer to the Lord, to share what He has done for me, not only through healing me, but for what He has done for me all of the last 75 years of my life. Everyone, please pray that I use the time the Lord has given me to grow in holiness and to share His love and goodness with my family, friends and with anyone that I am given the opportunity to talk with. Thise last six months have been a work of grace. Let it continue in my heart Lord Jesus , for my heart yearns for your presence. Help me not to stumble or fall, but if I do, Lord help me tp repent , forgive me and love me in my weakness .

Just before I left for work I opened my bible, given that we have just had an election, look what I read. Eccl 9 v17-18 The quiet words of the wise are more to be heeded, than the shouts of a ruler of fools. Wisdom is better than weapons of war, but one sinner destroys much good. I think they call it a God wink!

Lord Jesus, I humbly pray for myself, Father Mike, & all the people participating in the Bible-in-Year podcast. May your word take deep root in our hearts & transform our ways of thinking, discerning, and acting. May your grace open our ears to hear & understand both the Old & the New Testaments that we may revere & treasure the words which God has prepared for all who desire to enter his kingdom. Send us your Holy Spirit to give us the Spirit of Knowledge, that we may know God and know ourselves. Give us the grace to approach the Word of God with meekness & humility, & with an eagerness to do everything God desires. Help us to be diligent students & faithful disciples of your Word. May our hearts never grow dull & may our ears never tire of listening to your voice. Amen.

Reflecting on all the Kings, my goodness, shows us God's limitless mercy-a God of second chances whose love transcends human failings; no depth of sin can thwart the love and forgiveness of God. We discover the path to redemption and renewal through contrite repentance and humility. God is SO good! May God work in all of us to give us hearts that are discerning to His Word, His working in us, and glorifying God in all we think and do. Sending prayers for Fr. It’s tragic that they lost & then forgot about the Book of the Law given to them by God Himself! They literally lost their identity in doing that. Finding the book must have been like finally finding out who they are. Can you imagine that they felt equal measures of fear & joy? Fear in finding out what would happen to them for not following the Law, joy in finding out how much they are loved. I believe a grand repentance party is coming. 🙏❤️ God is so merciful! If we turn to Him, even if we are the most vile sinner, & truly repent He will hear & forgive. He will rescue our souls from the depths. His forbearance in the face of our sins is mercy to us. God will not wait forever, eventually we all face the Justice of God. Repent before it’s too late! 🙏❤️

@@cindymmc.2869 it’s ok Cindy, I could get behind some days too - with work, family, house chores, etc but I try to catch up when I’m driving, when doing chores and even during lunch time at work… but it’s ok, just go on. I have the Bible too, it’s hard to read it when you’re always on the go, that’s why I’m thankful for Father Mike because he’s doing this and I’ll definitely start again next year so I can understand it so much better. God bless you Cindy. May the Holy Spirit continue to guide us all who are following this BIAY. 🕊🌼😇

@@cindymmc.2869 That was the case with us as a family too,... inbetween... due to relocating and settling down But to help catch up, we had morning and evening sessions to space it out... and by God's Grace, we have caught up. Now again we have the session, just once a day We had diligently started on January 1.... and God willing, would love to finish on December 31

@@claudinejoseph5533 I did 20 days in one day, I have to get back on a schedule I got the bible though. I just didn’t know about it and I don’t know why, I think because my sister was very ill for 3 months so I was rather distracted. Honestly, I will probably have to listen at least 3 times I have decided for it all to sink it. I am determined I will finish the first round by Dec 31st I can do a binge I have done it a few times. I put the podcast on and listen too. I just got the bible the other day it came and it is amazing. God bless!

I have done a few Bible classes and also the Timeline Bible Study. It just makes you want more and more of the Bible. It is good to have you to help explain the Bible to us. Helpful and so much appreciated

Dear Father Mike and bible in a year family. My husband and I truly enjoyed doing this Bible in year together. Sadly, he passed away beautifully peacefully on July 22 after a battle with cancer. I have fallen behind but I really want to continue and honour this time we spent together in the Word. Please keep me in your prayers. 🙏

Hi Father Mike, this particular day really touched a point in me. I did not lose the Book of the Law. but I did not know how to read it page by page like what I am doing now with you. My journey to the Story of my Salvation started 11 yrs ago when Ascension Press was introduced to us in our Parish. We started with Jeff Cavins BibleTimeline and I joined every study of Ascension Press from then on. It was so awesome! I became closer to the Lord. He became truly part of my life as a daughter, a wife, a mother, a friend, an active member of our parish and as a nurse. Thank you, Father Mike , for saying Yes to this noble call of bringing back the Book of the Law to all of us in this BIAY community. You are in my prayers everyday.

July 7, 2023 Round Two Please pray for Souls in Purgatory. Go ahead, just take about 30 seconds to help save a soul that maybe is your family member or friend! Go forth and help save! Here is the prayer: (According to tradition, St. Gertrude the Great was told by Our Lord that each time she piously recited the following prayer, it would release 1,000 souls (or a vast number) from their suffering in purgatory.) The Prayer of St. Gertrude Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen. God would reply to St. Gertrude that He would use whatever was offered to Him for the faithful departed, according to His inclination to show pardon & mercy.

This is why going to confession on a regular basis is so important. It would be nice if before every mass there was regular confession. When you go every two weeks too the same Priest you feel accountable.

Can someone confirm if one message I got from today's readings is correct, and that is, a life can be cut short if the Lord perceives that that life can be corrupted in the future. Is that what happened to king Josiah? On a different note, let's always pray for the good Lord to guard and guide Fr. Mike. The evil one knows that Fr. Mike is reaching a lot of souls and will try to stop him.

Day 188..finally there's a good King..Josiah seems like he'll be the one to put the Israelite's back in the favor of the eyes of the Lord. But yet on the other side of the Lord's chosen, we have Manasseh who simply turns out to do what's evil in the sight of the Lord and did not do as his father Hezekiah did, what a shame. At least he turned back from his wickedness and once again, God forgave him for his transgressions..almost an insight of the Messiah! Well I guess I spoke too quickly..yet another slip up, with Amon (Manasseh's son) leading the Israelite's back to the evil in sight of the Lord's eyes. Which leads to his own servants turning on him. Oh yes..proverbs, great stuff here..my son, keep my words and treasure up my commandments, keep my teachings as the apple of your eye! Nothing more need be said. Prayers for Father Mike and all the BIY family 🙏❤
