Your video had me in tears. The Tohoku Earthquake was devastating, but it's very uplifting to see the resilience, hope, and determination of the people whose lives were indelibly affected by this tragedy. Thank you for your very thoughtful video.

I'm here in Tohoku and was here three years ago when the after math was a bit fresh. I had children during English camp who were living in temporary homes in Tanohata who mothers died. It was devastating and I didn't know how to bring joy to these children's life. But we tried our best and gave them as much fun and entertainment as we could. I hope they have gone on to do well.

Today marks 6 years since the earthquake and tsunami that stuck the northeast coast in Japan. I remember when people began posting videos on KZfaq of their homes been washed away, it was chilling to stand in the same place (Rikuzentakata and more). I was only able to stay a day but talking to the people who survived the disaster, and seeing it for myself helped really understand more about the strength and beauty of the people who are rebuilding across Tohoku. Ganbappeshi!

Even after six years, it brings tears to my eyes to see anthing of the areas affected by the tsunami. But you showed us that the people there did not just survive it but are reviving their towns, business, and life. Thank you very much, Lotetta, for putting this video together.

It makes me happy that more people are learning about Tohoku! It was truly an honor to visit Minamisanriku and learn the stories of the people who have survived this tragic event. But most importantly it stuck with me how work and effort their all putting in together to rebuild what they have lost! That is what I call a true community

Thank you very much for this video. Ever since the earthquake and tsunami hit Japan I've been fascinated by the event. When I first saw video of the destruction as it was happening my heart broke. I just went through a tornado on April 22nd 2020 here in Texas, USA. While that was horrible, terrible and devastating it was nothing compared to what happened in Japan on 3-11-11. I'm glad to see them rebuilding and trying their best to get on with life. I understand this better than some because I've been through a devastating event. My heart ,thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Japan. God bless them.

You'd love the story of the Michinoku Coastal Trail though! They just opened it as a hiking trail that goes up the coast of areas that we're ravaged by the tsunami, but now you can stay with fisherman or farmers, boat through the rocks, hiking mountains, etc. Absolutely gorgeous and a beautiful way to bring a new story to an broken coast.

Thanks for creating this and getting awareness out there cause I had no idea. Amazing content and video!

4:12 - I well remember seeing this 5-story building in a post-tsunami video years ago. It was shocking that the water completely submerged all 4 lower floors, and partly washed into the 5th floor. If you'd thought you were safe on the 3rd or 4th floor, you could have been killed if you hadn't been able to get upstairs in time as the water quickly got higher.

3:31 - I presume this sign was in place before the tsunami and survived it, and was retained as a memorial to show the depth the water reached here. It says "Okamoto Self", which I guess could have been a self-storage facility, or some other kind of self-service business.

Also students from one of my junior high schools on Friday had a prayer ceremony for the victims. It was moving and even one of the kids (who I think had a relative die from the incident was crying). It was painful to watch but necessary.

Building in areas that were prone to flooding is insane. Rebuilding after they were flooded in the same areas after countless people were killed is no less insane. Nature didn't care the first time. What makes you think she will care any time after that? Just like putting a nuclear power plant by the tsunami prone ocean in the most earthquake active region in the world is insane. Humanity never learns until humanity is tired of getting the same results. That would be a much more inspirational video.
