Had a garmin, changed to roam, because I wanted to do things on the fly and not have to stop, take my gloves off to change some data I wanted to change on ride 👊🏾

1030 plus: best screen time, great routing, radar, PM, HR, integration all auto-synced. Climbing metrics are all outlined as well on the 1030 / 1030 plus.

I got my first 'real' bike computer (something showing more than just cadence and speed) at age 55. But now I love my Karoo II! Map and routing are top, "take me home" routes very fast. Screen brightness goes up to 'Wow'! I really like the very regular software updates as well. Just recently DC rainmaker had some very valid "what I dislike" comments and presto: a few weeks later and these issues are fixed. They really listen to their users. If you are adventurous and know your way around Android OS, you can even 'side load' Android apps on the device, but be careful not to 'Brick' the device 😀

For a future vid, it would be good to plan a route and follow it on all three computers, see how they all navigate the exact same route. Ace vid, looking forward to the next. 👌👌😎🏁

Why do you think they would navigate any differently? What you describe is pretty much what we're doing every ride..?

@@Fernwee I have a wahoo, if I put the same route from kamoot on my iPhone and the wahoo, the app navigates perfectly, but the roam always get lost! Just wondered if they all navigate the same. 👌🏁

Hej Martijn, love the real world showdown on bike equipment. Kudos...... question though are you guys using a stem mount for the GPS unit? I want a 1030 but can't find a stem mount to work with the size, of the unit and Easton bars make it hard to get a bar mount to stay still.

I enjoyed the video! Did you miss out on the fact that Hammerhead Karoo 2 syncs directly if you just use the card slot :-) ? Also I think it's great that you can sideload apps directly to the Karoo. Battery life though....

1030 is a great bike computer and one of the best out there but expensive. At its price point its hard to beat what the Karoo 2 does when compared to similar priced computers. Thats my 2 cents at least 😎

Heb zelf een Garmin 530 en had voorheen een Wahoo. Alles bij elkaar vind ik de Garmin wel fijner en mooier ook. De Karoo 2 ken ik niet zo goed. Grootste nadeel van de Garmin vind ik wel dat hij niet zo adaptief is. Als je op een pad rijdt naast de geplande route ben je gelijk 'uit koers' en in geval van verkeerd rijden vindt de Garmin het moeilijk om iets van een route te verzinnen om weer op je geplande route uit te komen. Wellicht verwacht ik hierin te veel, maar dat is volgens mij bij de andere computers wel ietsje beter voor elkaar.

As a K2 user - how are the achieved km's comparing at the end of each ride though for the various computers? You're all riding the exact same distance, my bet is the k2 says you are riding further than the other 2 I would say the k2 wins the screen comparison if you have the brightness turned up, turn it down to extend the battery life and not so great

@@Fernwee I think it is worth trying! Just started yesterday so can't say anything about the progress I'm making. I like the way it works with Garmin Connect and Strava (edge 530 for me) and it adapts to plans you already have and it adapts other training such as running. Next training is planned for Wednesday and I already had some Utrechtse heuvelrug touring planned for the weekend :D
