Whenever something like this happens and you have multiple riders the group needs to make sure it doesnt go from bad to worse. Making sure any other vehicles coming along know theres an accident, you guys focused on the injuries which is good, i hope you all heal up ok. I work forestry and i see this type of accident all the time, usually with logging trucks and usually they are on the correct side of the road. Good luck and hope you get back on asap.

@@mortaygo1 disagree. The bike was well over to the left, the ute was not only in the middle of the road, but from the speed and line it was travelling, the driver had used the complete wrong side of the road during the apex, cutting the corner. I see it all the time driving and riding the dirt roads around my place. The majority of drivers in Australia simply shouldn't be allowed on the road. Vehicles get "safer" roads get better, yet speed limits keep reducing. Every wondered why? Its because drivers are more distracted and lazier than ever before.
@mortaygo1
@mortaygo1 8 ай бұрын
ok.. we'll have to agree to disagree.. because that 4x4 wasn't on the wrong side.. it's a skinnny secondary road that reduces in width at the bend... What it is tho - is a timely reminder to all of use to keep tight left, particularly on blind corners. @@TRAVERSE_ADV
@TRAVERSE_ADV
@TRAVERSE_ADV 8 ай бұрын
@@mortaygo1 exactly, even if the roads not narrow, keep outside wheels of the vehicle right on the edge of the road. Watch it again, the outside wheels are at least 1 metre from the edge of the road, hence in the wrong. I have 100s of kilometres of road just like that near my place and I see that all the time. Even in a particular tar road thats narrow, with plenty of room for 2 cars to pass each other, most drivers almost offset head on all the time because most drivers are afraid of the edge of the road.

I've survived two head ons on motorcycles. Both were other bikes. Both got object fixation and headed straight for me. Both times I exited stage left prefering to take my chances with the bush. Both times they still followed me and hit me. First one resulted in 14 different broken bones, two surgeries and multiple pins, screws and plates. The second i survived without injury, but the guy who hit me broke his nose and cheek when he head butted my hand multiple times. I may have been a little sensitive as it was the first ride back after the first head on. Stay alert... they live among us. 👍

In all seriousness, I hope that you haven't injured yourself too badly and that insurance is able to take care of the rest. I'm nursing a sore right arm and waiting for a brake leaver and mirror after an ever so small crash last week (my fault). You have my sympathy.
