Nicely played today. Compared to a week ago where you auto played some openings until the trap had already sprung, here you stopped and thought as soon as opponent diverged from what you knew (it probably helped it was an opening you knew some lines of). Still, many would ignore the flank pawn or misplay to the c pawn attack. While the defense wasn't perfectly accurate it kept you into the game. Your opponent was more tactical than strategic and you frustrating his tactics likely helped lead to the blunder where he did not see your backwards queen move.

Nice game against a much higher rated opponent who was playing trappy lines. Good vision. Well defended making good use of dual purpose developing moves. Especially liked your second to last move, though I don't think you saw the double attack hitting the a pawn as well as the pawn he took to lose the Queen and game.

Very good win against a strong opponent. I know they blundered at the end but you were holding in with a reasonable position until then. Sometimes you miss things even during the analysis. So, for example, at 17:10 black is threatening two pawns, the one on e3 and the one on a2. I think you might be a bit lucky because in the game you don't seem to notice the a2 pawn. But also in the analysis you don't seem to notice it. The reason stockfish likes Qa3 is that it defends both a2 and e3. There is only one other way to defend both pawns and that is the move that you played. It seems to me that black thought you played d5 to block the attack on the a2 pawn but they missed the fact that it also opened up your queen to defend e3. They were probably expecting Qa3 and mistakenly thought this was the only way to defend the a2 pawn and the e3 pawn and that is why they blundered. You were lucky in that you found one of the defences even though you seemingly never even noticed that the a2 pawn was under threat. Nevertheless, well played!!

I think you were missing heaps of forks from you opponent in the analysis. There were 2 pawns hanging, and a paen and knight hanging at 1 stage

Have you ever considered playing a move like 5. Nf6+ in positions like this? I know there's nothing wrong with 5. Ng3, but taking the knight on f6 in this particular position would mess up black's pawn structure.

I think your opponent totally underestimated your ability based on the elo difference. Never underestimate the Patricks!! Cazad0r75

Your d5 loses to Qe5...mate or picks up the knight.

Omg, you got so much luck, not deserved. D5 is a quite a bad move, after QE5 white can almost resign
