I just realized something. Couldn't Homura have found Madoka before she contracted(Because her time loop apparently starts before then), tell her to wish for the defeat of Walpurgisnacht with no casualties, and then just wait out the rest of the loop?

+The White Pikmin Much as I have made comments to the contrary in the past, with the benefit of hindsight that couldn't work. Homura Akemi would NEVER accept Madoka Kaname as a magical girl. Ever. Not after she's seen what happens when she turns into a witch.

I think this is the route where Homura convinces Mami to become an idol so that she won't die like in every other timeline. And then I assume she plans to protect the town with Kyouko so Madoka and Sayaka don't have to go out of their way to cover for Mami if they aren't comfortable with it.
