Not sure what to say Patrick. No deep analysis required. You are simply not playing anywhere near your best. Missing hanging material all over the place. You need some sort of reset. Maybe a break. Maybe a longer time control. I don't know. But at the moment it is not clear where the next win is coming from.

@@chesswithpatrick bro you need to check all possible moves before you move anything. In the middle game take a look at the board and see where are good places to put your pieces before moving them and try to combine them to attack one side of the board.

After the fork I immediately saw Ne5 attacking the knight and defending the pawn twice with the bishop. just go on mass trades and after e5 if queen trades then Patrick ends up controlling the center file with his rook forcing a castle on king side.

I was shocked by Nh2 in particular. What's the decision making process there? You're up material, you have the nice central square e5, probably leading to some exchanges. Instead on h2 it only defends a pawn already defended by two other pieces and is completely out of play. In fact it quickly became a target.

Patrick, if you are up material early, look to trade pieces to simplify and get to a winning endgame. This is very fundamental. You are losing games due to a lack of fundamentals, not lack of opening knowledge.

My morning routine: get some coffee, turn on Patrick, yell at my phone for 10 minutes. Stop trying to make tactics happen. Stop studying openings. Develop. Consider what's threatened in your position. Fix it. Every move. Tactics will "appear" when you practice them. I'd recommend cooling it with blitz and bullet. Those are based on reaction and instinct, but here you need to spend a bit more time considering threats.

Don’t worry about losing 100 points. You can gain them just as quickly. Well done for working on the vienna and french. This will benefit you long term. I think you missed the hanging rook in this game because you were worried about king safety. Once you were up material, You went for a queenside pawn storm when you could have just moved you king to safety on the queenside and trade everything off particularly queens. No need to go for the kill with checkmate. Take your time and let your opponent make the mistake.

If you have the time to watch any chess content during the week, I once again recommend Nelson on chess vibes on KZfaq. One of your other viewers said you actually played a game against him at some point, which I sadly missed. I think you would do better watching his speed run than actually studying at the moment. He just has a great way of explaining his simple thought process for every move right from the opening without any memorising of opening lines required. It's a thought process that you could learn a lot from. Simple, non complicated, never too many moves ahead, followed by decisive action with no second guessing.

Hmmmm. You probably just need to get back to checks captures and attacks as the basis for your next move and simplify all other thinking processes. Also try and reduce your worrying about a position and just play your moves once you have covered your basic blunder checks. Your skill level is so much better than when you started but your rutt could be you just not enjoying your chess as much due to the expectations the chat is putting on you. Have fun on the next one and relax more. It might help. This game was also a bit of a minefield to navigate so one of those ones where blunders and misses are just more likely regardless

There have been many times in my chess journey where I feel like I'm getting worse. This is usually when I'm trying new things ...it's to be expected that you will lose elo as you learn. The brain needs time to process what's been studied. Don't be too hard on yourself. Stats don't move in a straight line. Also...putting too much pressure on yourself is never good in chess. This goal you're attempting to reach albeit in front of the world is massive pressure. Chess is supposed to be fun. Let the gm's take years off their lives from all the stress...you on the other hand should loosen up and just have fun

So, you are talking and saying if he plays Ne4 I push b4 and he must move his queen. Assuming again. What if he just takes your knight, attacking your queen. Doh! He did not do that, but your view was incorrect as your position is worse. Stop assuming must only respond the way you expect, as sometimes they don't. Just push attacking the knight. It is not rocket science. Why even think of moving your knight to a square where it will be attached twice. Attack you won a piece for a pawn. Don't dither. Take the knight. You are attacking it twice. Ne4, not Rf2? Move pieces, not pawns. That was simply awful. Difficult to turn a ship around when it is sinking. Glug, glug, glug. Analysis: Look at what people said to do. g5 and yet you could not find it trying other moves that were clearly bad. Why would he move the knight to a square where it can be taken, you might do that, but that is a piece loss. That thought did not cross your mind, the logical correct idea was not even a consideration, i.e. trading down. What do you think the problem is? Dude. you did not BxR staring at the board in analysis. and you did not immediately see it was hanging. Gee Ne4 is the best move, trading down pieces, what a shocker. When it is clear what you should do, you hesitate, and then when there is some question about what is best you just react BXB losing a piece due to the pin. That is backwards from the way you should think.

Patrick, I think you're seeing "ghosts". Looking for tactics that aren't there and being afraid of your opponent's tactics that may not be there. Ie. I think you're overthinking your play. I think this is also why you study openings because you have been hit with advanced tactics that you want to avoid. However, this mindset has caused you to shift your focus away from fundamentals. Your board vision is really suffering right now. I think you need a break, or you need to go back to basics. Win or lose, rating climb to 2000 be damned, we are all here rooting for you. Are you familiar with the 4 levels of competence? I think you were playing great chess at stage 2. To get to stage 3 you felt you needed advanced tactics and opening prep. Unfortunately, you lost sight of the fundamentals and your lack of vision and intuition has dropped you down to stage 1. Tough love from one tech bro to another.

Forget about openings. Forget about ELO. In fact, if you only observe how the last move changed the position (what is now attacked? what is now undefended? what lines have closed or opened?) you will play much better than you have been lately.
@blogattacker
@blogattacker Ай бұрын
Dont worry, once again the position was so complex that was beyond your level. Don´t over think. Just make the following chek list: 1 Golden Fundamental: You don´t move the same piece twice during the openings (forget about opening theory and all that crap, just do that and you will win) -2 All your pieces need to be developed before attacking (although you might think you have an advantage going out early, you will end up losing and you 'll get massacred beyond 1800) -3 The opening finishes with castle, then start attacking. -4 Before start attacking, it is always wise to move your rooks in open columns (or in columns you think will be open). That will give you a winning end game -5 Now attack -6 All your pieces needs to be supported by other pieces in the attack to avoid double threats "you lost two rooks in your last games because they were hanging with no backup" -7 Develop a plan: Go for a weak pawn, attack the center, or thw king side, you could win or lose but at least you know what you are doing. Remember that the other guy is just as confused as you are at the same ELO
