For context, this video was filmed in early fall (also gives you an idea how far in advance I started filming these videos haha) just before I lost a close member of my family. The timing was really on another level for this one.

Oh god, this one made me bawl. RTD is too good at that. Just goes to show why he was and will always be the best. Feck, this was beautiful. And it really makes me miss the total kindness of Ten and how he never forgets friends, even when they're not his companions and are just people he met on the way.

I cried at this when I first saw this, 😢😢😢 it's such beautiful mini ep, it was the actual person who played novice hame and they got David bk to do his role as the doctor too for it, and he did it for free the great man did, God bless him. ❤️❤️❤️

Jess, I'm so sorry for your loss, especially during this year with everything we've all had to deal with, that must have been very difficult. I loved this animation, I think it's really beautiful and it completely destroyed me, so you are not alone on that particular aspect. It also half-panicked me as I'd just submitted my contribution to Matthew Rimmer's Time Scope 2020 anthology which was a short story about Ten going to visit Boe as part of his farewell tour, and required a few minor edits to bring it in line with this video! Hame is such a lovely character, I'm glad she got another moment in the spotlight. I know some time has passed since you filmed this, but very best wishes to you and your family, and equally so looking ahead to Christmas, thank you again for this DW December.

I still miss RTD, man. His writing is god tier when it comes to character building, the little moments that add so much to the bigger picture, and he’s unsurpassed in terms of writing dialogue and memorable lines that convey how incredible the Whoniverse is. It’s melodramatic, but in a good way, if that’s even a thing that makes sense. XD

I was waiting for this reaction ever since I watched it. I found it to be a nice nod that ties that part of Doctor Who together. It's a small thing but it really adds up to the lore and our emotional connection to Novice Hame.

It'll be three years exactly this coming Friday, since I lost my Mum. I still miss her every day. I think my reaction to this has been very similar to yours Jess.

When I first heard ten say “hello” I burst into tears. Hearing new things from one of my doctors was so amazing and heartwarming and comforting

It does sort of feel - and was kind of hinted at being at the time, too, as I recall - like a kind of farewell to Doctor Who from Davies, which I think adds to the poignancy of it.

I love this one. A bunch of the Lockdown shorts are nice to watch, but this is one I could actually consider canon. It's beautiful without being twee. And the open-endedness is intriguing. That last bit where Hame is still talking after death but no-one can hear her reminds me of the 'Torchwood' episode, 'Random Shoes'.

Gave me chills when I first saw it. I forgot this was out there, thanks for reminding me. Isnt it funny that she ends on a voyage that the Doctor will never know.

There is no person who has experienced grief or owned a cat (or any other pet) who couldn't have got emotional at this. I know I was. If it wasn't for the bit about animals the Doctor had been, this would just be the nicely written one which made me cry, again.

I'm NOT a big RTD fan, but I do like this story, especially how respectful it is of Hame's religion.

My favorite part, "the hundreds of their faces: the men women and animals who take that name." This means we may yet see a cat folk, or part cat folk Doctor, just like there was a part catfolk Master back in Classic era. Or maybe just a part beastfolk doctor of a different type. My condolences.

I was assuming all the way through this that you made the recording before your sad loss. It was only when you started to speak about a family member that it hit me that this was still in you future. It is a beautiful story, beautifully told. Letting us know just enough and not spelling out anything too soon. In the case of her final secret, hardly telling us at all. I do hope that it helped you with the events that were to come. It is, after all, full of love and hope. All my best wishes to you and your family.

Do you note the "hundreds" of faces the Doctor had, women, men, and animals? The canon was changing. Over billions of years, how many Doctors have there been? Hundreds she's heard stories of.

I am sorry to hear that you lost someone close. I know the feeling when i lost my mom 2 years ago. The pain will never go away but it does eventually get easier. Thank you also for bringing joy with your reviews. My doctor is the forth doctor tom baker who has made several appearences in the new sets of asventures. I think you will enjoy him as much as doctor number 12.
