моя сегодняшняя короткая история : сегодня Алина и Питер были у родителей Алины в гостях, так как это был день рождения папы Алины. Мама Алины приготовила божественную еду на обед: рис и жареное мясо с перцем и луком. Питер принёс вкусный шоколадный торт. Вечером они съели в уютном итальянском ресторане на юге города.

Dear Nastya, I highly appreciate your course, since it is the best of all I have seen so far...the worst one I had booked has three "u"-letters in its name. You permit me to mention three little things about English (although I am German speaking, Swiss variety). - English has some rudimetal case endings, e.g. "To whom are you talking?" The "m". Without "m" it is a "virgin accusative". -"warm" and "worm" have a different pronunciation a native English speaker has to explain to you. You pronounced "worm" tea, i.e. tea made from worms. "Warm" has a sound with a dark, open "o". -"ear" and "year" differ in pronunciation: "year". starts with the sound you use in "Yes", "ear" with the sound used in "is". I have some experience with English - in Nepal you could read in a menu "tenderlion steak" instead of tenderloin:) I know that also Russian has its "pronunciation traps" I do not master at present....

Hi Nastya. I love your lessons. Can you please do one about how Russians might talk on the phone when one person is telling a story and the other is agreeing with her. In English we might answer, You don't say! No really! I know, I know..., How terrible! You must be kidding! You're joking! Unbelievable! My goodness me! Your pulling my leg! Good Lord! ...... Many thanks.

What are considered soft consonants?

I'm confused... the н in вкусная takes ую, but for летная it takes юю? I'm sure I'm missing something obvious :(

In летняя Н is soft. This is the difference. Try to pronounce these 2 words out loud

I agree. Those soft ‘н’s are really difficult. I was also going for the ‘Юю’ adjectival ending.
