2 years ago I took part in a prolife march in Galway city. A car passed by and a woman shouted from the car " this is 2022 you know"...clearly she thought that we are so enlightened now that life in the womb is meaningless and totally disposable..how utterly sad and unlightened we have become as a society...May God have mercy on us..."Father, forgive them for they know not what they do"..excellent talk Fr. Brendan .

The first time I told someone that they were dying from the moment of conception they were horrified. How can they not see that abortion is not just morally wrong but humanly wrong. There is such a selfish streak in the human body that must be submerged in order that the good and beauty of what it means to be alive to celebrate what wonder and love God has given us. Together let us celebrate life for life.

We've been raising people without knowledge of consequences for a few generations. Nobody fails at school. Everyone gets a medal. And now we have to face the teenage argument from our immature majority. "You are too old, to old fashioned, stuck in then mud, not with the times. You are regressive. ... You are against progress!" I went to Catholic grammar school & Catholic high school in the 60's & 70's. I graduated well educated in all the classical term. But I was an agnostic. The Church dropped the ball (or the I should say the "smoke of Satan" is in the Vatican). Praise be God, I married a good Catholic woman and God blessed us with 5 children by which my eyes & soul was opened by their births. We are a traditional Latin Mass Catholic family. The devil has infiltrated all of our institutions and the final fight for us Catholics is beginning. God bless you Father.

Thank you for articulating this so well. I agree with all you have said. I never connected it with pride but it makes perfect sense. I’ve experience volunteering with people who are considering abortion. Thank God, we have helped and supported women to have their babies. It’s heartbreaking when we can’t help. When they are so focused on the price it will have on their life to bring a child into the world. They’re so focused on that price that they don’t see the other side of the coin. 😢They pay a price either way. Please pray for clarity and a softening of hearts. 💕

I’m glad I found your channel Fr Brendan, when I look at any child, baby or any person, I wonder how on earth can anyone consider abortion an option a “choice “ what kind of delusional mindset is it ? I have honestly lay in bed at night with tears rolling down my face thinking about all the people who never even got a chance to take a breath of air or open their eyes, it hurts really badly to dwell on it.

In the last 100 yrs over 1000 million human beings have been aborted,96% of whom were healthy and in the place where they should be safest,the womb of their mother.In France ,30% of women have had an abortion,so much for liberte,egalite and fraternite. The pain and suffering has been incalculable with the tentacles of despair reaching deep into our society. We can and will do better,this will end and we should all strive help those to follow a more humane path,for all our sakes. Thank you Father Kilcoyne for highlighting this critical issue.

Thanks for Brendan, I'm just back from a weeks retreat in Mount Mellary and what your saying was discussed at meals by various guests , we looked back at simplicity of life in the 60s and 70s here in Ireland though we seemed poor we were very rich in love where everyone participated in the raising of children, I myself would bring neighbours babies for strolls in pram though I was only a child myself and would take great care to be careful with the pram going up and down on footpaths I did it truly out of Love for thosr neighbours and the baby so they could get few chores done and didn't need to be asked as I'd ask them. I made lot of mistakes later in my life which I've now repented of . At Mellary I was able to discuss such with lot of young people I met there and some older people too particularly two Nuns whom I thanked from bottom of my heart for sacrifices they made to help us , Nuns gave great education in School I went to in Waterford called Ursuline Convent and anything I didn't learn was because of my own neglect of being a daydreamer watching the clouds I'd give

Father, thank you for your wise words. There are no atheists in foxholes. You know all too well the reality of death - its at that moment when death claims you that you face the immediate reality that what you held previously was not only stupid but wrong. Every single human being will face God. You are right that this "prideful" behaviour will bury everyone who engages in it - and this behaviour will care huge consequences for those who try to do the right thing Genuine humility is a good thing for those who's words and behaviour is humble. If you've ever watched an abortion and come away feeling nothing, you are not human. You can call me anything you like, but murdering a child in the womb is horrific , to say the least. It's giving God the two fingers, it's spitting in his face as was done in his agony of the cross. If you don't believe in Gog, you just have to look at the natural disasters taking place, to realise there is someone bigger than you. I suggerest every unwanted pregnancy watch an abortion before their decision, often from peer pressure. Who do we think we are in knowing that we can take the life of anyone, baby or old person? Yet it is prevalent in todays society and is increasingly becoming more evident with our treatment of the sick and dying. I am firmly against the interference of the human hand in deciding if someone should die with dignity as opposed to when God decides to take them naturally. Unfortunately I have witnessed such a thing for myself and have been left feeling angry and resentful. Thank you for continuing to bring these controversial issues to the fore which most want too sweep under the carpet and will still take their front seat at Sunday mass.
