If you ever go to UK, go to Wales. More specifically Cardiff Bay where they filmed Torchwood. There is a Ianto memorial. It even got flooded but the fans saved it.

Iantos death was horrible, really got to me. Theres a memorial to him in Cardiff where they film the exterior shots.

Jay, I knew you'd probably need grief counselling after watching this episode of Torchwood. Ianto's death is brutal. I remember openly sobbing the first time I saw it. And I cried again right along with you this time around. I think Torchwood: Children of Earth is some of the best, thought-provoking science-fiction ever written for any medium. You're a sweet boy and I enjoy rewatching things through your eyes. Keep up the good work.

That discussion of League Tables in terms of selecting g the children is the most terrifying thing I’ve ever seen in Doctor Who-related media. Compared to the human race the 456 aren’t monsters at all.

Well, aside from the 456 using kids as their personal drug of course. But I do agree that the human race really isn't superior in any way. We all resolve to 'survival of the fittest' in one way or another when it's our lives, or the lives of our loved ones on the line. It's horrible to think that this is likely how the discussions would probably go if there was a situation like this. Yet it probably would be. People who grow up to be doctors or scientists or whatever are somehow more valued than those who- I don't know, clean toilets and collect trash... which is insane because the world could not function without them either. It's a disgusting line of thinking imho.

The worst part is that this scenario with the politicians is very realistic. Ianto's death broke my heart when I watched it as it aired, and I couldn't bring myself to watch it again until now... and it still broke my heart.

Nooooo! This is not an episode I like to rematch a regular basis as its SO sad and emotional 😢😢😢 boohoo Ianto is gone x (but still very alive on the Big Finish audio range) 😊

I hate the 456. If there's any enemy from the Torchwood (or Dr. Who) universe that'll stick with me throughout my years it'll be the 456. They're actually terrifying, and their reason for wanting those kids is- just ugh... At the end of season 2, after losing two precious characters... I thought to myself 'at least we still have Ianto'... he was quite the backbone to the series, the guy who got shit done. On top of that of course there was his relationship with Jack, and while we knew he'd die before Jack, well... let's just say we all hoped it wouldn't be that soon. This episode is a tough one on many levels. I absolutely despise what is going on in the government over there, how casually they are talking about it. I mean, I'm sure it's more horrifying to them than they're showing, but... it's still absolutely disgusting. I can't place myself in a situation like that, and I don't want to, but I think I'd rather die than be involved in something like that.
